because you felt you needed 650 watts for your rig?
yes and like I said, I don't plan on using the same graphics card for the next 3 - 4 years.

it's already been covered in this thread that an hx520 covers all your cpu and gpu oc needs so why bother going for something bigger if you are just running one card

They dont make the 520 any more!
Antec High Current Gamer 520W PSU is a lot like that the hx520 and they're still making that...
Why did you buy a tx650 then, when a hx 520 is more than you'll ever need? surely not to power your gtx 460, that takes less power than a gtx 480

The Corsair has 54A across the 12v rails, the Antec only has 40A.
Excuse small hijack... Could a OCZ StealthXStream 2 500W Power Supply, take a BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC, with a 2.6 core 2 duo. I think i wont get away with it.

arrghh no it doesnt! 480w max on the SINGLE 12v rail. that's 13.something amps per 'rail' if you insist on splitting it, or 40a max.
Look at the maximum output on that very photo - 480W!
how many times do i have to keep saying it ?![]()
Then why do the rails each have 18A on the HX520 specs?
[TW]Fox;18350410 said:It depends on the PSU. A 550w no-name and I agree. But the Corsair PSU is an excellent PSU.
