As already said speak to HR. unless it’s your contact which I have never heard of he cant tell you not to drink it. I mean he has no right telling you that you cant drink it outside of work. Sounds like one of my old manager and just had a god complex and thinks he can control you like a puppet.
My advice is not to wind him up if you plan to stay or have a career in the company as he is likely to take it out on you anyway he can (well from what im picturing of this manager in my head)
Speak to HR and see what’s they say. They could always have a word with him if you wanted and basically tell him to back off. I remember in my last job a manager thought red bull was a legal high which was also alcoholic lol. So he could just be some miss informed old manager that doesnt have a clue.
Just approach the problem with a clear head. In most cases I wouldnt approach this very well and would just drink red bull to **** him off but thats me.
