The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Download it off the market.
r7-update-modacocustomrom-blade-kitchen-unsigned.zip is the one ive used?

Mines had very very light usage and is at 37%

battery history
running 20%
screen on 12.8%
phone on 5.7%

Bearing in mind i have installed nothing else yet.

Might go applanet later and setcpu.

Think ive got better usage today. At least its usable.

Now two things i need. The FM radio volume is so quiet surely others have noticed? At full volume its no where near distorted so i feel it has loads more to offer? On a bus i can hear other peoples earphones over the top.!!!!

Also id like the battery meter to be in %?

Im nearly happy:)

Oh got a nice case and a scree protector today. But i got some fluff under it!! damn thing is so annoying.

ANyone know if i take it off and wash it will it restick?

Oh and is there anyway to extend the time it takes before the screen lock comes on. Like when u send a text and some one replied u have to unlock the screen again!

mines now turned yellow? shall i let it drain right out?

i know most people can charge during the day but how about if you need a phone while on the road? ie on site and have no way of charging ity? it would have died ages ago?

My mates go the hd desire and its just the same......gets about 10hours of use out of it......7am till about 7pm of proper use....

ie emailing pictures of jobs to people...

bit of sat nav

If anyone is after a satnav app I would recommend aura sygic over co-pilot. Managed to get a 25% discount from XDA forums. Co-pilot is good but the software is so jerky and unresponsive. But sygic is smooth as butter with the right settings. Voice directions so far I've found are very good and the maps appear to be quite accurate. At just over £19 was a bargain to me.

I'll give FLB a try again, but I'm quite happy with a 2.1 Debranded Orange ROM atm. It's so snappy compared to 2.2! Ok, I know it defeats the point of having an OSF in the first place as flashing to 2.2 is what made the phone appealing. But I started to get tired of the lag with the phone even just after one day of flashing with a new JJellyfish!

I've just spent all day setting up my 2.1 ROM, so I'll have to do a full backup with Clockwork first before I wipe and try FLB.

To get fluff out from under a screen protector stick some selotape to the protector and use that to lift it whilst keeping hold of it then take a seperate piece of selotape and use that to get the bit of fluff, smooth the protector back down making sure to avoid any air pockets then carefully remove the selotape used to lift it.

Hope that makes sense!

Is there any thing to tell me usage?

Like on my iphone it would tell me minutes used texts sent and data usage and i would just reset it every billing date.

The thing is you shouldn't need an app to tell you your usage, the phone should have it built in. Just another reason showing that android just isn't quite polished enough. The phone functions are like an afterthought

iPhones don't even have that built in, so what are you on about?

Well then iOS fails at being a phone first too - that's what i'm on about.

With both it feels as though the phone features i.e the dailer, contacts etc.. are just bolt on's rather than being well integrated into the system.

Using this phone with Bladevillan still, after some problems with launcherpro expiring it's all hunky dory. using the phone as a phone it's not bad, good with facebook but the touchscreen is pants for texting. takes me twice as long as my iphone 2g. I also found that using it with any moderate demands wipes the battery but with normal use of phone and texting I can get 3 days out of one charge which is not bad.

Strange, I flashed my OSF yesterday and restored a backup of a JJellyfish ROM I made earlier, and it's much smoother for some reason when scrolling through homescreens and application lists. But it does still lag every now and again when sliding the unlock after you haven't used the phone for some time. Very annoying!

how do you take screen caps in the SF on froyo 2.2?

I updated to the jellyfish RLS8 rom a couple of weeks ago and the performance and battery life increase has been outstanding.

The battery has lasted over 4 days and I want to take some screen caps to show it.
