look at him, he darted away!

:(

I had a pitbull go for my cat in the garden.

It took some bloody nerve to stand up against that little ******* critter. :/

It broke my neighbours nose as she pulled it away.

Way to generalise. Dobermans are smart and very loyal.

And potentially lethal, Lethal.

Not every owner is going to raise a doberman well, but it doesn't mean others should stereotype.

Even if they do, you can't remove the dogs penchant for stranger aggression.

I feel the reputation of these types of dog is generally left wanting, as is the culture around them.

Perhaps I don't know enough about them, and my past experiences and reading could well have biased me against them. I don't view them in good light.

What sort of stereotype accompanies Labs for example?

Can I also point out to a few in here that there is significant difference between "stereotype" and "prejudice".

Gutted for you. The owner of those dogs should be strung up for being so irresponsible. Make sure you do everything possible to get the book thrown at her, no matter how hard or tedious it may become. Also try not to blame the dogs...although a breed capable of being vicious, it's really not their fault as they should have been better trained, or have been on a lead. The idiot owner obviously just doesn't give a toss if this has happened before. Hope they rot.

This, so sorry to hear your news. I'd be gutted if it was my Jack Russell.

Very sorry to hear about this :(

Report it to the police and the RSPCA. Get names & dates of previous attacks from other owners in the area. Get them to report it too

:( Very sorry to here that -impulse- and genuinely gutted for you! Please don't label every Doberman as aggressive though as thats simply not the case, the fault lays with the owner and I hope you pursue getting he/she prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

The Police don't take dog on dog attacks at all seriously enough. I and others have had numerous problems with a Staffy that some idiot neighbours simply refuse to keep under control after many, many requests, the Police are simply not interested. :(

Its a shame people use these types of breeds as penis extensions, as they can have lovely temperaments and be great family pets if trained responsibly! I have a cousin with four Staffordshire Bull Terriers which she has had since puppies and they are such a pleasure to be around.

They are aggressive to unknown people, while not being aggressive to the owner and people the dog is familiar with, if left alone with unknown people it will flip out.

Witnessing this directly, the owner of said dog had absolute complete control while in its presence, it would do whatever it was told, when said owner went to the toilet, the dog seemed extremely aggressive and wouldn't follow orders.

Luckily I was able to release a moment of pure evil, so the dog **** itself, and ran under the sofa, however if it was someone other than myself, no doubt some sort of violence would have taken place... However since that day the dog wasn't itself, suffered from depression and eventually ran in front of a car.

Generally, all breeds which possesses enough strength to do any serious damage should not be allowed as pets without a specific license with specific requirements I.e. people in sparse rural areas, or organised dog fighting events.

I actually thought you were going to contribute to this thread, but yet again you've relapsed into the usual attention seeking whore that we have come to expect of you here on this forum.

Perhaps you can respond to my points rather than resorting to your usual insults, not once have you responded properly, and obviously that is to be expected since you lack the ability.

You simply post to get a rise out of people and nothing more, grow the **** up.

i have said all along to everyone who helped me in my search that its not the dogs fault, if anything i feel for the doberman, he is only aggressive because the older--muzzled--one was violent due to neglet from the owner (who got a second younger one for some reason) and he has copied, unfortunatly if nothing is done the doberman may bite a person and will then be put done.

I am one of the biggest dog lovers you will ever meet and the last thing i want is for another dog to be hurt.

I'm glad that you see it that way -impulse- if you didn't I wouldn't blame you. My aunt had a Yorkshire Terrier that was attacked by a Boxer and didn't survive due to the blood loss from the wounds, a terrible ordeal for her as you can imagine.
