***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Think you got a while yet, but it tells you if you need two drivers. If the car is good enough and he doesnt need to push hard then a level 0 driver in a 2 driver race should be fine, i used level 0 drivers in the level 25 endurance race and he was fine.

Extreme Series / European Championship (level 22)
I think thats the first event that needs 2 drivers.
Then

Endurance Series / Grand Valley 300km (Level 25)
That requires 4 drivers. (as do all but the 24hrs of LeMans Endurance races)

Many thanks.

endurance races in b-spec are the same length as in a-spec, the 200km and 300 mile and 24 hour and 4 hour events are the same in both

think the rewards are lower in b-spec though

You have a brake balance/pressure controller regardless of power.
I was going to test the brake balance/pressure as it seems to lock up at strange times and handle wildly.

Try this, go to the brake balance setting, max it front and rear, slam on the brakes. Depending on your ABS setting either the wheels will lock up or the ABS system will pulse brake pressure, either way, your brakes are providing more than enough stopping force and you are limited by traction. That's the way I'm reading it anyway. Now if there was fade, then upgrading brakes might be necessary.
I've also noticed, online at least, brake discs don't glow, even in premium cars, braking into chicanes on dls, from 240 to about 70, at night. :(

they glow in main game i remember seeing my RM corvette glowing when doing the indy road course

its it just me or are the rally events in this a joke, just been doing the SL Rally Special Event.

First track i was sliding around corners etc like rally cars do, cliped a side barrier disqualified wtf.

Watched PD's example reply and i was even more wft is this rally cars dont slow doen to 30mph and slowly drive around a corner.

PD should stay way from rally - untill they get i correct (maybe hey should watch some rally videos etc to understand rally).

The rally modes aren't that bad, but they're certainly not right either.

they are ok, but just seem's like PD never looked at how a rally car/rally driver goes around the track for the special events.

Its almost like they have done a normal track and thought "make this rally" with normal rules etc.

i dont know if it's something im doing but, when the car slides round a corner, pressing the accellerate button (R2 for me) the car has adelay of a few seconds before it goes again.

That's because it's struggling for grip.
Try increasing LSD acceleration sensitivity?

I didn't find the rally that bad, it takes some getting used too sure, and the barriers are annoying, they should probably allow more space at the edge of tracks before invisible barriers. I found snow fairly easy and gravel hardest, I ended up needing the car stiffer and lower than I expected.

@moby, it's not that. Any brake discs will glow, not just ceramic. Plus I think we tried with an RM 'vette. Maybe it is just in online mode, but again, I don't see much point in the discs on your own car glowing when you can't see them in SP.

Using the minolta for gran turismo all stars, easy enough but for nuremberg event best setting for down force etc? as all the twistyness catching me and spinning out.

Im confused in regards to a time trial on the updated seasonal list

THe top times (online) seem to be done by a Rally car thats over the bhp limit when bought.....how can this be? Only about 5 bhp over the 295 limit but still

i dont know if it's something im doing but, when the car slides round a corner, pressing the accellerate button (R2 for me) the car has adelay of a few seconds before it goes again.

I got really annoyed with that too

The timings are really off too imo - in three out of four sections you can be streets ahead of all the competitors, yet in the last section without a crash or anything you can loose gigantic amounts of time for no reason (and therefore lose the stage / rally as a whole)

try going to the settings for the car?
The BHP varies between dealership/garage with the max bhp shown in the dealership but normally even new cars will be a little under this without an oil change.

You got my hopes up when you said new seasonals. Where are they? :(

It makes little difference when the race itself tells you you have too much bhp though - thats what Im getting at - yet the leaderboard is littered with this car

the setttings for the car......in the Garage (which is what I said in my original post ) states the max bhp possible

The bhp shown in the garage is it's current figure not the maximum/original figure. If the bhp figure for the car when viewed in your garage is higher than the race requirement then you need to race it more to bring it down.

I'm pretty sure it states your current (which is what I said in my original post) as I've seen it go up after an oil change.

To get rid of oversteer lower the rear suspension strength and the lower the dampers, rebound and stabilizer by 1 or 2
Also increase acceleration LSD settings and enable TC at 5 and Spin recovery on.
