Got my Asrock P67 Extreme 6 up & running now.Any questions u want answered

ok so whats the deal, do u still use speedstep for multidrop and if so are you applying any offset etc or just leaving the vcore static high and low multi?

Yes, basically there is never a reason to not use "speedstep" unfortunately when you overclock Intel or the board makers have stopped the voltage part of the speedstep working since a long time back...quite unbelievable nowerdays !
So the problem is we have to balance the low load voltage to the high load voltage with pretty much static settings at each end of the range, not ideal really but I think I have a handle on it ;)

A tweakable turbo would be the answer but I can't believe it has no Multi settings !

Got 0.8v-1.2v setting working at the moment, I need to find out what the PLL is supposed to do.....because it does squat :)

ok

3.3ghz stock 62watt desktop 90watt full load
4.2ghz 62watt desktop 107watt full load
4.5ghz (.944v) 62watt desktop 114watt full load (1.248v)

4.5ghz playing 2 HD movies + internet (cpu 15-19%) [email protected] 69watt load

System has 2xsata HD's in raid and dvd but only an old pciex gforce card

Quite reasonable I thought

Damn fine looking mobo, I can't wait to build mine when my Antec 300 finally arrives! - should've got it from overclockers :)

How you know how many watts your cpu is drawing ??

or is this the wattage draw from your whole system ?

Well the windows software seems a little bit pointless.... I change the multi and it asks me to reboot lol.

Hi Guys,

I have the Asrock P67 Professional board but I am having issues selecting anything higher than the 46x multi, when selected the board posts fine and then I just get a white flashing line in the top left corner of the screen and nothing else.

I'm not sure what it could be as this is my second board as the first one kept on playing up, I have tried 4 different bios's and made changes to all the voltages to no avail. The 45x multi works fine without issues.

Any Ideas?

Can you post a complete list of your overclock settings? I've been overclocking since I had a Cyrix 166+ but this is seriously confusing now.

chaparral quick question on the 9900 back plate mount bracket,is it plastic or metal ,reason I ask is if its metal then there's a chance of it shorting the board from underneath when its connected?

Hi Elevon

The back bracket is made of metal and is very very close to a few of the soldered pikes on the rear of the motherboard....
This worryed me big time when i started fitting my 9900 cooler as i must have spend about 30 minutes checking there was enough clearance

But there is enough clearance between the back bracket and soldered pikes..:)

I would suggest You do some reading on overclocking, In the mean time have you tried the "muppets preset turbo overclock" setting to 4.6ghz...but please don't run it other than a quick test !

I have no issues running at 4.5ghz with 1.25v 100% stable

I have pushed the vcore up to the recommended max of 1.38v but it makes no difference, the board will post fine with the 46x multi, it just refuses to load windows even if I use the pre-set over clock I get the same results.

It's either the CPU has hit a hard wall or I am missing something?

I had this problem when i first tryed clocking at anything above 46x..

I changed a few of the bios default settings and then i had no problem overclocking to above 5ghz
