*** 25/02/2011 EXTENSION! *** DEAL OF CENTURY: Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB Graphics Card with 2 FREE

some results..
Heaven benchmark
DX11
Extreme Tesselation
1920X1200
8x AA
16x AF

card on stock does 25 fps.. I tried overclocking memory only to 3950
rerun bench, score 25.2 fps
then I oced gpu to 839, score 28.7fps
then I oced gpu to 839 and mem to 3900, score 28.9 if I remember well..
so memory does not make a difference, almost negligible.. the chip must not be memory
bandwidth limited.. I ran tha benchmark 2-3 times at 839 core 3900 memory and then played crysis for an hour or so.. rock solid. So it must have been my memory at 4000 that caused it to crash..
Now I probably got a stable core 839mhz at 1.012 stock voltage(asus smart doctor).. though gpuz reports even lower, lower than 1v..
Should I push it further?
temps are v good, they are about 80-81c on stock and 82-83 overclocked.. under crysis load

Had to RMA mine today because of VLOD =(

That sucks mate, hope you get it sorted soon.

Also has anyone that has bought the Asus 480 noticed any of the heatpipes dented? The card I received today has so I'm hoping it doesn't affect cooling performance. Can't test until my new PSU arrives, but fingers crossed it's not going to cause problems.

The first one I received was a used/open box part , so I rang ocuk immediately and requested a new one. I had to return the unit as requested, they then sent me a brand new unused one.

All good now thankfully :D

tbh they should have picked up the tab for returning an obviously not new product

Well i've been using this card for a couple of days now, and i must admit... i'm happy the 4870x2 died :D

Tried BFBC2 with DX11 and it looks so much better then DX9. Tried FC2 as well and that runs/looks great.

I have a Antec Three Hundred case with a intake fan above the card to keep it cool - temp while gaming is about 80 - 90.

Fan speed - quiet compared to the 4870x2!

All in all, i'm a happy bunny.

Got mine yesterday. Stock volts of 1.050v and seems to artifact in Kombustor at 870-880Mhz core at 1.138v in afterburner with the fan ramped up to 100%.

I can see what people mean about the noise - too noisy for my liking at stock fan speed of 44%.

Yes my left most heat pipe looked flattened out.
