That's what i said, doesn't seem that impressive![]()
I was watching the 2 gameplay trailers posted earlier. You know, the ones where your allies boobs are freakin' huge in the first video and considerably less 'Lara Croft' in the second video. The combat seemed to go along the lines of 'run in, spam buttons, eventually get surrounded by a swarm of cannon fodder enemies, AoE and somehow kill everything in 1 shot'. The ogre didn't seem to need any special tactics either, it was just more of the same.

a) the gfx actually seem worse than Da1.
b) notice how in combat 90% of the time the mouse cursor is just sat still or moving in the centre, basically just watching them auto attack :/
You know those graphics are on medium, right?

I played this at the Eurogamer event in london last september, it was on 360, and was essentially button mashing.... Graphics was unimpressed with compared to original, however it had a certain element of charm the story bit, im assuming it will be the same sequence released as the demo, But i pretty much button mashed way through it, the "boss fight" however i tried to button mash, however that failed and my party died, and i had to jsut run around waiting for health to come up, button mash a bit, then repeat till boss died....
Lost some of the charm of the first, but im still keen on seeing how the story goes.
I'm confused by this post, are you saying that it isn't as good as the first because you have to button mash or because it's harder to succeed when button mashing?
I thought it read quite clearly.
Normal fights = button mashing = instawin
Boss fights = pure button mashing = fail => button mashing followed by running around to regen and repeat = win
Basically you win by button mashing which those gameplay trailers showed pretty clearly. Wonder how the mage will play out since FF is off again on normal. Probably just more of the same but with spells.

Combat is pretty sad. I suppose it is fun in a completely mindless way, that rogue disappearing **** was kind of cool. But the story is going to have to drag me in to really keep up with this one. Of course once again battles are just mindless hordes of dark spawn being thrown at you with the odd ogre thrown in. Bland level of just corridors that only lead in one direction. Bah.
This started as the would be sucessor to Baldurs Gate series..I spended the last 2 minutes observing a fight against an ogre were athe intire party was wiped out in 30 secs and the last 1m30s were the fighter -tank doing exactly the same stab animation over n over and drinking a potion each 15 secs.
