ICC ODI World Cup 2011

SL vs CAN is pretty boring. :(

SL showing them far too much respect IMO. :p

Edit - 200 up for SL in the 35th over. Come on SL get a move on! Think they're waiting for the Canadians to tire.

Oh dear... Wicket gone on the 1st ball of the second over of the Canadian innings.

Edit - DROPPED! Second ball, new batsmen, outside edge, 1st slip dropped it!

To add insult to injury the next ball goes for 4. :D

Edit 2 - another one bites the dust. 8-2 after 3 overs.

This is exactly why I think SL should have taken more risks and been more aggressive during their innings.

Anyone know what the review system rules and regs are in the cup?

I don't recall any team using them in the first match and in this match Canada used loads! Are they unlimited and only available at certain grounds? Seems a but unfair if so...

Lol - wicket #3 goes as I type.

I don't think that net run rate will affect SL too much in this game tbh. But yeah, seeing what India did yesterday, big teams will now be under pressure to make runs v small teams :p

Kulasekera and Perera got the wickets, I had both of them in my fantasy team at some point or another, then took them both out :o

Another one gone 12/3

India used one appeal, but it was unsuccessful. They are available at every single ground, in every single match. The BCCI has always been reluctant to use UDRS, saying that the tech is not 100% reliable. It seems ironic that the one bit of tech considered reliable by the BCCI (hotspot) is the one that won't be available in the tournament. Not until the semi finals anyway.

Wasn't about the NRR more just a chance to hit a few runs and free up the arms, get the whole team to have a good slog.

I see. I did think that the replays (that we were shown anyway) didn't look all that great.

Aussies not doing so great (again..)

Watson the only stand out performer (again ..) so far, but we'l see how the bowlers do.

Would be hilarious if the Zimbabwe fans started singing the Mitch' Johnson song ;)

Well I was surprised they made it to 262 in the end, after 10 overs I thought they would be struggling to make 210.

From the matches so far I think it could be very interesting because:

India batted well but Bowling wasn't brilliant
Sri Lanka didn't score massively but bowled well
The Aussies really struggled in bat

And none of them were playing against "World Class" teams so it could be very interesting.

Really looking forward to England vs. India. India have by far the best batting lineup, and i think England probably have the best bowling lineup in these conditions. I actually think it could be quite a close game, even though I don't see England doing so well against better bowling lineups.

The game will depend on whether the Indian bowlers or English batsmen turn up. I don't expect miracles from the Indian bowlers, however on their day they can do well. Same with the England batting lineup, on their day they can wreck havoc, but on paper there's not really the same firepower as other teams.

Our recent performances (Aussie series aside) have been so successful because Strauss and <opener> have been able to get 35-50-60 runs each with strike rates of ~90 - 100+ or so.
Allowing the likes of KP, Morgan to go out and keep the rate high whilst Trott, Colly keep it ticking over.

Our openers consistently fail recently though, and we dont seem to have a plan B.

Was watching on my phone in my lecture and when I left they were on 95... just looked now and they are on 139... err what happened?!

Pietersen bowling 2 overs and they get 20 I just heard...? Why is KP bowling with Bopara there?!
