Playstation 3 | Xbox 360

Experience the epic sequel to the 2009 Game of the Year from the critically acclaimed makers of Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2. You are one of the few who escaped the destruction of your home. Now, forced to fight for survival in an ever-changing world, you must gather the deadliest of allies, amass fame and fortune, and seal your place in history. This is the story of how the world changed forever. The legend of your Rise to Power begins now.

Key Features:
  • Embark upon an all-new adventure that takes place across an entire decade and shapes itself around every decision you make.
  • Determine your rise to power from a destitute refugee to the revered champion of the land.
  • Think like a general and fight like a Spartan with dynamic new combat mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a mage, rogue, or warrior.
  • Go deeper into the world of Dragon Age with an entirely new cinematic experience that grabs hold of you from the beginning and never lets go.
  • Discover a whole realm rendered in stunning detail with updated graphics and a new visual style.

Dragon Age II centers around the main character named Hawke, known to be a survivor of the Blight and the Champion of Kirkwall, who rises to power throughout the story. In the format of a framed story, the tale is told by one of Hawke's companions Varric to Cassandra, a Chantry Seeker, which spans over a decade throughout the game and the player writes the history that will change the world forever.

Choices that the player made in Dragon Age: Origins can be imported and reflected in the world of Dragon Age II. Choices from Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening will also be imported, if the player decides to take this action.

I'm not a massive fan of some of the changes they've enacted in this title, however the demo still entertained me enough to keep my preorder. What made Dragon Age great for me didn't start happening until after a few hours playtime and that's typical of nearly all good RPGs i've played.

I do find it hilarious how personally a couple of people in the PC gaming section are taking these changes.

Surely rather than talking English, everyone in this sub-forum should be saying 'herp-a-derpy-derp'?

Right, sorry, going off topic already!

For anyone else who's played the demo, is it just me that's finding the voice actor for the female Hawk far more believable than the Male voice actor? Quite disappointing as i typically like to play as a male in RPGs, but he's so naff i may have to resort to being a chick.

Being chatted up by dudes just feels so... wrong!

Nice one, was considering making this thread myself. The amount of whining in the PC thread is hilarious.

Got the PS3 demo on the download now from PSN, should be done in an hour or so.

Might get this one on PS3 rather than PC this time round. (due to the changes)

Those vids and screens pc or 360/ps3 btw?

Herpy console gamers blah blah blah blah, destroying humanity blah blah blah, worse than hitler blah blah blah dumbifying all games blah blah blah, forget graphics all games should just be a spreadsheet of numbers blah blah blah

I'll be trying it tonight now it's downloaded :)

Its definitely been made with console gamers in mind so I can understand why the pc crowd are getting so excited. Doesn't really bother me though, I had the first on the pc but I've decided to get this on the xbox. If you enable the auto-attack on the pc and slowed down combat (mod maybe) it would probably play almost identical to origins.

Anyway, really looking forward to it. Only bad point in the demo are the voices of your siblings. Male and female hawke voices are pretty good imo.

It's tempting but I'm not, the first didn't control very well on consoles and this, despite being faster doesn't seem all that different. The skill wheel is crap too from my time with the PS3 version of the first.

You should check the skyrim thread. Its already started there as well :)

Yep I know, it's amazing how PC gamers beat on nearly every game now, we barely have anything to go with on Skyrim, just a couple of screenshots and a few brief bullet points yet it's already "completely ruined" they're such prima donnas.

I'm a predominantly PC gamer and I don't mind the changes in DA II, the combat in the first felt outdated and boring. I have a irl friend who's up in arms about it and I don't understand how he gets by, he sounds like such a little nerd claiming he wants Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale days back.

I hated how in Dragon Age you always had to wait for your character to slowly approach the enemy, shimmy to the side of them, stop, then start attacking. Yawn!

I actually prefer the combat in KOTOR, that game is 8 years old!

I'm waiting to see the reviews and what others think of the PS3 version. Dragon Age Origins on PS3 had much lower res textures than even the 360 version it looked to me. Havent actually used the skill wheel on console before.

If they do a proper job of the PS3 version - i'll get it over the pc version. :)

Yeah it's clunky as hell, and if you wanted to do a special attack you had to wait for your character to finish what ever animation they had started grrr.

Oh and the fact my mage kept freezing me because the tactics options weren't good enough
