Dune is being slated for a 2014 release, although the production seems to as controversial and complex as the original (which I thought was brilliant and is one of my favourite films)

Some movies have a great premise but fail to deliver. A remake gives another film maker a chance to put right what once went wrong.

O RLY?This is a good point, and could be applied to episodes 1,2 and 3, but short of someone posessing lucas, it is rather unlikely.
