But which one?

I tried a few last night and all of them caused issues on cm 7 rc1.

I just got:

gapps-gb-20110120-signed.zip 2011-Jan-19 15:03:14 4.4M application/zip

Is that the correct one? I really don't want more issues. :o :(

OK, so yesterday busted my ROM cherry wide open after being rooted for months. Tentatively stuck my toes in the water with a nearly-stock FroYo before going for anything crazy (I want to try MIUI). Forgot to do a Nandroid so glad it went through OK (I have an old Nandroid from last week though). I've managed to keep my SMSs, my mail is IMAP anyway, and after partitioning my SD card kept all that stuff too. However I lost my contacts like a pillock.

Is there a way to:

Open up my Nandroid in 'emulation' software and export to csv or something?

or

I remember setting up a backup thing (either standard Android or perhaps a Sense thing) which backs up encrypted to your device. But I can't remember where it is to load up the backups! Will my contacts be in this?

Or is it just as easy to Nandroid my current ROM, reload last weeks Nandroid, export contacts, then image todays Nandroid ROM?

Google apps all installed ok. :D

One thing, I have installed typo clock, and when I was on Oxygen RC1, if I touched the clock on the homescreen it would take me to the alarm settings etc, but now it doesn't do anything.

Any ideas?

You'll probably need to configure the tap action as the location of certain files and apps will be different on different ROMs

A quick restart sorted out my problem.

Another Q.

I backed up with Titanium backup before my format/install of CM7, when I restore should I just do app data and apps?

Nevermind, looks like Google sync is killing my data and syncing everything back. All my apps are slowly appearing again.

Will this cause issues as now I am on CM7 and not Oxygen?

Shouldn't do but you should have unticked the sync option with google for data and settings on first boot :p

i hate the google sync thing, its even done it before when i have told it not to or had the chance to edit the options. it also restores stuff from ages back, wish you could see what and when it last backup up on a pc, just login and edit or delete

Help! My Desire /CM7 Rom was playing up earlier and I had to remove the battery to reboot. Now I seem to have completely lost GMAIL. Is there any easy way of getting it back? Market won't allow download.

edit -ok now, got apk from xda

Indeed, I told it not to as I wasn't on a wifi connection.

BTW, CM7 RC1 nightly #5 seems very good for battery - With regular usage with 3G+WIFI on I am currently on 22% left after 1day and 9hours :D So that's gone all yesterday at work (average HSDPA reception) and then all night and some of this morning.

Looking promising for the final release. So apps2ext is not supported out of the box?
