Your political compass

The more worrying thing is your complete unwillingness to acknowledge what has happened every single time your ideology has been implemented...

And what has happened every time your ideology has been implemented? Hmm? Would that be... widespread poverty? 90% of people going through life and having nothing to show for it at the end? Most of the worlds wealth and all of the world's power lying in the hands of the select few? Generally people being unhappy?

That's not the sort of world i want to live in, and you're a fool for thinking it's ever been a good idea ;)

I could go on for hours, however i don't think this thread is quite the place to be discussing deschooling... ;)

You need to finish your own schooling really before you make sweeping judgements about the entire educational system.

Still we could always indoctrinate State sponsored ideology and revisionism in Re-education camps........

I'd need to hear more before I'd be willing to make much of a judgement about plans for schooling but Superewza is right in that this probably isn't the thread for it. Maybe another thread could be started if people feel it merits discussion?

I've just had a quick look for previous threads on the political compass and it seems I may be slightly less economically left wing, I'm sure that could change again. There's one from 2007 here and one about an ideology quiz in 2007 here if anyone wants to compare.

I was indifferent about some of the questions but there wasn't an option to fence-sit.

What's interesting is that on a fair number of questions I really could have gone either way, so doing the test again in a different frame of mind I may get different results.

And when it comes to sex and religion, I act one way but think another lol.

Interesting known the less.

Well we could always just talk to my mother about what she thinks the education system is worth after either twenty or thirty years spent working in it. Or any number of her workmates. Or a large number of my own 'teachers'. Or every lecturer i've had the opportunity to talk to.

Your idea, not mine. Who's the authoritarian one again? :p

Your mother and her colleagues and all your teachers feel that marxist/communist forced re-education camps are a good idea!!!

Holy absurdity batman.......no wonder you're indoctrinated.

How am I authoritarian again?

.

Mine was a tad more down/left! Really surprised me too but it's partly the questions and I've had a lot of alcohol ;)

Economic Left/Right: -3.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.72

Must admit I usually see myself as a bit of a right wing chap, so this is a bit of a turn up!

Seriously? I can't even be bothered any more, i'll let you read back and realize how stupid that post is.

I'm always very consistent in this test... Trouble is with my views, I apparently have no one to vote for.

I dread to think how you right wing/authoritarian types answer your questions.

;)

Must admit, I wouldn't have thought I was that 'liberal' as such. I like the idea of structure and government, I just don't ******** trust them! (Much like I don't think corporations are a bad thing, but sometimes money is blinding).

I don't like the test, there are questions such as:

Controlling inflation is more important than controlling unemployment.

and to agree or disagree with an opinion is nothing more than speculation as ultimately what is important is the knock-on effect from those actions, and frankly I don't think there's a good answer for that as our economic system is pretty poorly understood (by myself at least :p).

Anyway I'm with the majority apparently, a bit left, a bit socially libertarian, but nothing extreme:
Economic Left/Right: -2.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.13
