Chris Moyles 37hour show!

Are you sure 37 hours is the record? I remember hearing about some DJ who span tunes for 3 days straight who now has the record though I could be wrong...

Ohh right im sorry, damn...ive totally changed my mind...I keep forgetting the people that are employed and state payed to stand beside you all day...holding a shotgun to yoru head...screaming about how you MUST listen to the full 37 hrs..or even 10 minutes of it....keep forgetting about that.

He stands to the right of me by the way..on the left I have Lenny Henry holding another gun to my genitals shouting how I have to text in £1 every 1hr that hes on...quite a crowd around here!

What the hell are you blathering about?

As per usual, I will exclude myself from listening to Radio 1 purely because I find the quality of their DJs to be sub par. With the exception of a few DJs such as Mark LaMarr, I've no interest in Beeb radio beyond Radio 4.

My point is that detritus like Moyles are paid vast sums of money from the taxes I pay so I have the pleasure of listening to him and his particular brand of, for want of a better word, 'entertainers' telling me to give my hard earned away for a cause he is doing absolutely **** ALL to support the cause at the ground level.

When I see him going out to provide help to those who receive the money, rather than pulling daft stunts which provide no benefit to those in need, I shall reconsider my point. Until then, might I suggest you re-evaluate what it actually is to be charitable, because being of celebrity status with a megaphone is not it, I can assure you.

You relly do miss the point dont you, the fact that he can get the message thru to millions of listeners every morning is the point, raising the profile etc.
Who cares WHY they money is given so long as its donated to help others, I suppose Bono and U2 should never say anything when raising money, even tho they are multi millionaires?
I know fine well what it is to be charitable, ive invlved myself in my charity groups, as well as doing commissioned work FOC on their behalf to help smaller charities on a local level save some money, but if I had the oppertunity to reach millions of poeple for a few weeks then I would take it.

Walking a similar distance (one day) a couple of years ago in Australia, walking in southern Egypt last year. Appropriate clothing, enough water, there is no need for 20km a day to be anything like a struggle.

So was that you walked for 100km in one day, or did one day of 20km and no more?

Are you used to walking, are you an active person? What temperatures do australian deserts get up to?

*sigh* no, I struggle to read what it is you're typing, actually.

Bono and U2 are a whole different kettle of fish. They are a band of international fame and their work doesn't stop at doing domestic stunts. They (allegedly) go out to the countries they support and perform charitable work. When has Moyles done this?

Bottom line and essentially what I am getting at here, is that he is all for helping as long as his fat backside doesn't have to exert itself. To paraphrase Jay Leno, he wants you to know about the charitable things he's doing anonymously. It looks good on him and, realistically, requires nothing in return.

You're missing entirely the point I am making. He is a millionaire many times over and what is irksome is that he is egging everybody else to donate "whatever they can."

Allow me to put this as plainly as possible so there is no confusion: I pay his ****ing wage, I've given my share. If he cares enough, he can donate the money from my pocket he's already taken for providing me with zero benefit. I don't listen to his asinine show, so whatever I and the rest of us who don't listen to him have contributed to his finances through the license fee can go to Comic Relief from his pocket.

if he finishes the 37 hour none stop with him announcing he is going to retire from radio 1 and let someone fresh and new come along and do the breakfast show ill happily donate £50. Every time i hear the radio at work in the morning with Moyles he goes on about the same subjects day in day out and only ever seems to play music when he wants to go to the toliet or go out for a cig

SO its okay for U2 and Bono, who have all earned in the 10's of millions, we have all bought their albums, we have given them their riches, but they come on Tv usually on Comic Relief and ask for our money, but thats okay because they are an International Band?...by rights then they should give up their fortunes to the charities?..you dont see any couble standard your are commiting here?.

And I remember about Moyls going and seeing the local Uk work being done before and after he made his climb up kilimanjaro (sorry bad Sp).

Dude, if you're not even going to read what I've written then I cannot be bothered to waste more time on your asinine textual fellatio.

Jesus I am shocked by the negativity to this? So you say hes doing nothing hard for the money, yet 2 years ago he did that climb, this wasn't something that they had planned for months apparenty it was just planned recently! Radio 1 have already raised £500,000 for comic relif for Scott mills walk!

If u don't like him don't listen! Is it that difficult? End of the day he is the longest serving breakfast show host, the BBC wouldn't keep him there if he is as bad as u lot make out! He's a hell of a better dj than some of the others on there

He's doing a good thing raising more money, not being paid to do it!

Dam those people making money for a good cause! What a shocking thing to do!!!!
