Dragon Age 2 - Official Thread

Im very impressed with the game so far.....I would say its the best RPG I have played on PS3 by far.

The issue with DLC that Shamikebab is touching on really does not concern me, its there in the future to keep the game refreshed IF you choose to want it.

The only issue I have with the game is that is has crashed during cut scenes about 4 times during my 9 or so hours of play. Has anyone else had this problem? thankfully the autosaves have prevented me having to reply long stints.

So much worse then the first its not even funny.
Repetition of areas, one healing spell on a stupid cooldown? whats the point of that?
It would be fine, it promotes tactics .. so you go into a battle careful, you CC the pack mobs .. get it on the tank and then ..

Another group spawns behind the mage, every single time ..
Most boss fights end up with tank + DPS on boss, drinking potions. Mage kiting mobs in circle because its more effective then killing them, when they will only respawn again anyway.

7/10 game on its own, feels worse when you compare against DA:O

DLC is the future im afraid. I protects developers and publishers against second hand games sales and piracy.

If you want that stuff you will have to pay for it and the developer/publisher will see some money from those who buy the game second hand.

Not sure on this...

Prefer the combat as I like to have a little control over my character.

However, I am about 5 hours into play and I am bored of playing the rogue, far to busy in combat to really keep an eye on the tactical side of things.

How is the mage, anyone rec some specs?

fixed for you.
piracy on consoles is hardly a big issue and on PC the DLC will be cracked anyway.
If I buy a car and want to sell it, does the next owner have to pay ford for the 4th and 5th gears?
If I buy a house, does the next owner have to pay the builder for the 2nd bedroom?
If I buy a book, does the next owner have to pay for the final 4 chapters?

it's a moot point. and developers need to get over it.
2nd hand sales help boost your 1st instance sales by giving the item a resale value (ie people buy and then trade in)
even if you don't see any value in the 2nd sale, all you are doing is devaluing the item you are selling in the 1st instance!

Ok so im playing and im looting.....My bag is getting full of rubbish like "broken bow" and "torn cloth" etc etc....is there ever ANY use for all this junk? Should I just flog it all?

Pretty much tosh.

This has been proven by the recent Fifa 11. Those who bought the game second hand then could not play online. They had to pay EA to be able to play online, something that was free with the original purchaser and tied to his EA account.

This will just become more mainstream were the original purchaser will get full functionality and any the game will be tied to an account. For PC's this is done with steam consoles will just go the same way. Any one who purchases the game second hand will then have to pay for this again.

games developers do not see second hand sales as a first hand sales boost they see it as a massive loss. I know i work for one.

back on topic.

I started this off as a mage with the intention of being a healer so i have more control over who lives and dies. However im finding this game much too easy compared with DAO. When I complete it I think il play it through again with a diff class probably warrior and on a harder setting.

started again as a mage... Feel slightly underpowered and I am sticking to the Primal tree, then will go onto more support skills.

I am only level 5, is there a boost at any point or will I always feel underpowered?

I'm enjoying the game but why oh why have they decided to streamline it and dumb it down?

DA:O was the best game I had played in a long long time. Getting rid of the ability to clothe other characters is a terrible decision - I loved the aspect of clothing each character depending on the roles I had them playing. There seems to be greater area repetition and the battles are far more boring with repeated spawns all around you.

ref my question above. if u can role an mage with arcane warrior spec then they are awesome

well they were in origins.

basically turns u into a tank who can cast and melee attack. With warrior armour and weapons.

No arcane warriors this time although you can tank with a blood mage spec by investing in strength and constitution which allows you to wear armour instead of robes. Coupled with rock armour and arcane shield should be quite effective. Haven't tried it myself though :)

i loved DA:O the only RPG that has betterd it for me this gen was demons souls and was looking forward to this but im now afraid i will end up really dissapointed so i think ill wait till i see this <£25 to be on the safe side
