Because when you "win" you get to re-write history as you see fit. Like the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima was necessary to end the pacific conflict..
Only most rational people refute that. Personally I consider them war crimes/crimes against humanity.

To quote Bainbridge, "Now we are all sons of *******".

I'm off out to Knutsford in a moment, i'm leaving from my own house on my own land, driving my own car. I don't need to worry about being shot on the way to my destination nor do i need to pack a gun or wear bodyarmour. I won't pass through state run checkpoints. I have no worries about going out for a drink or meal, i can buy whatever i want, i can talk freely about the world and how my country is run without the fear of being taken away, tonight i will see no fighter jets overhead, nor will i see any tanks or guns owned by the state trying to kill me.

These are all the things the real people in Libya want, they currently haven't got this, they seem to think its worth fighting for, and i think its worth giving them a hand.

That's your take on it, we already had access to the oil in Libya, it was outside investment that kept the wells running, he can't run them correctly anymore cause the experts have all flocked back to EUROPE.

TBH if the tin foil hat crew want to prove its a fine and dandy place to live under a "leader" like old plastic face in Libya then they should move there, I bet they would change their views pretty damn quickly.

@meghatronic But our government said the vicious Japanese would fight to the death.

As far as I'm concerned, the atomic bombings on Japan where nothing more than a science experiment to see what the effects on human beings an atomic attack would have. Now we know the effects an atomic attack would have, we don't need to drop any on the vicious Taliban who're willing to fight to the death.

why are people so self righteous?

at the end of the day, there have been and still are many oppressive regimes, but we do nothing, what has Libya got that they haven't?

Doesn't make it wrong to attack Gaddafi though.

So is Gaddafi attacking civilians or is he fighting a military coup?

Hes doing both, but in his mind there is no difference. Thats the point, if you not with him your an enemy, doesn't matter if you 6, 16 or 66 unless you follow him blindly your an enemy.
It doesn't matter if you wield arms or not.

The things your saying right now, anti government policy would have you spending a nice few hours with the secret police if you were in Libya. Can you not see that its different, you have freedom to express your views, by now if you were in Libya you would probably be dead.

Do you not think every human being on this planet deserves similar to what you have now?

mugabe has commited far more atrocities in zimbabwe than gaddafi has when are the planes gonna fly over his way and yemens kicking off to and saudi has bene a hotpot for ages.

What rights are those exactly? because a group of nations got togther and said it is ok to attack Syria?

Our forefathers fought many wars for the right to vote in governments to make big decisions for us. Our entire modern history is founded on this right to vote in the people to make decisions for us as a country.

The UN is a group of leaders each voted in to make the decision on what is right or wrong and what action needs to be taken.

10 countries voted in favour of taking action, 5 abstained, 0 voted against.

For once the countries of the world took clear concise action which makes me happy, its truly a victory for the system.

People who think this is about oil are seriously mistaken. If it were about oil by FAR the best course of action would have been to sit and say nothing while Gadaffi retook control of his country. Then carry on as normal.
