Motorola Atrix 4G

I'm actually impressed with the phone. I got a anti glare screen protector on which reduces some colour and brightness on screen so might put clear one once it comes.

Phone is smaller then my Galaxy S and text look much better even though they both use PenTile matrix (Atrix LCD Pentile and Galaxy Super Amoled Pentile)

Phone is light soild and very nice to use. Get upto 6mb download and 400-500kb upload at best on Vodafone UK.

I'm using launcher pro so phone feels better then moto blur and dailer uses US xxxx-xxx-xxx number layout which aint a big deal as you can use dailerOne. Hope 2.3 comes out with some speed improvements and 1080p video record.

everything else is same as other android thought some apps need update for qHD screen and some need it to access root/SDcard_ext instead of root/SDcard/external_SD.

Sound is pretty good when in a call. Finger print reader is very nice but slow to act but hopefully future update is make it quicker.

Tango has some issues and front cam looks a bit lame at the moment.

I did root and setup webtop without dock.

I have to say i'm very impressed, loads of people said firefox was very slow and flash didnt work or worked very choppy but was really smooth but not in HD but in SD which still looked great on 720p resolution.

the one thing is the colours looked washed out so i'm hoping its just a software thing, nexus S had a firmware update which changed colour temp.

loads of my games not do work yet but hopefully developers update their apps/games.

time to put galaxy on ebay me thinks

I don't like the look of the S2 handset itself and the ui looks like a cartoon. As for the LG, nice looking handset but the ui looks similar to the S2 and having owned an LG handset some years ago and vowing never to buy one again, it would take some convincing to get another.

I did have high hopes for HTC but a simple refresh doesn't do it for me. The leaked shots of the Pyramid however, do look good.

One thing I am looking for is improved sound quality both in call and from the loudspeaker. We shall see.
 
I agree with your comment on samsung's and lg's silly looking UI's

LauncherPro will disguise the front-end UI and rooting+romming should get rid of it all.

I do like the Atrix...I will make my mind up when i see them for real.
 
I'v owned HTC, Samsung and now Moto so if your into media and video playback then go with samsung. Supports almost all video codec and play back is smooth.

Atrix needs more codec...i couldnt even play some mp4 720p files in media centre mode or on the phone.

anyway back to topic, i love the look and feel of the atrix. I think webtop is fantastic if you are some one always on the Go and need a mini netbook. I like the SGS2 but not the size. some one posted pic of galaxy s next to atrix which are both 4" but atrix is smaller and feels better in hand.

deffo my fav phone but hopefully 2.3 from moto will bring some improvements..
 
I'm looking to import the Atrix myself,but haven't found any around that price, where did you purchase it from? Can anyone reccomend anywhere?

today got 15 and half hours with 3G/H data on all day with about 30mins of webtop, 20mins of gaming, 15mins of browsing, 2 email accounts sync, 20mins of call, few 10+ text and whatsapp.

also just general messing about and people checking the phone.


very impressed! i used to get 8 and half hours out of galaxy S on 3G/H data and with same apps and less usuage but on wifi was good.


also love the size, exactly same size as iphone4 but 4" :D

Some news sites are saying the Atrix could get its UK release next week. The reasoning being that the Motorola store is giving dates of 4-7 days bedfore stock arrives of many Atrix accessories.
 
My brother just picked up one of these in Canada the other day...have had him on whatsapp telling me all about it...said its pretty nice and very quick...its his first Android device....ill be having a play with it when i go over there in the next couple of weeks myself....will be interesting to see just how good it is or not.
