***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

Getting about 30-40fps on 'Very High' @ 1080p w/ Vsync on my X4 640 and 5770 512mb.

The lower ram on the 5770 is probably hurting it a bit, but its more than playable.

well iv'e been playing the game for a couple of hours, i can honestly say the game isn't to bad, once you get into it and find weapon upgrades it's pretty good. graphically is ok however not much in the way of distructive enviroments. you can blow up cars and some walls thats pretty much it. is it like "cod" franchise sort of but at the same time no, yes it's stealth, shoot, kill but grabbing people whilst in stealth then killing someone else is quite enjoyable. i wouldn't be surprised if they re-released crysis with the new engine or added a level pack. but everyone as allways pushing there toys out of the pram on the first day of release.

People finding the ai to be a bit weird was expected, remember the ai in the original game? They would "investigate" burning barrels only to be blown up, they would come out into the ocean only to magically drown, there was also certain areas where they would walk off cliffs only to land at the bottom with no ill effects. Yet chuck them into a puddle and they drown.

This awful its just at best an average shooter. The lighting/bloom is crazy its flashing all the time, if i played this game for an hour you would get a headache.

Crossfire issues are causing the bloom/lighting issues. It's pretty common knowledge.

Can't comment /re the rest.

I think the game and the graphics are brilliant. I recorded this using FRAPS last night. I'm well impressed .....

+1

i'm about 55 minutes into it and some of the visuals are stunning, especially considering the fact it's only direct x 9:eek:

running a 5850 on extreme at 1920x1080 at getting about 47FPS outdoors and high 30's indoors at the minute

So far im finding it good, anyone else think the feline with the silencer attached is a bit weird? You get these puffs of smoke out the front that totally block your aim.

After playing for a few hours I don't really like the story. The lack of quick saves is annoying. Graphics are excellent for me - seeing as I have a 5770 and can run it on very high.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

The story seems to not follow on at all. Prophet is the only original person I've seen. The whole military aspect seems to have vanished and now I feel like a lone man fighting the world. I liked how the Crysis 1 you were dropped in knowing only that Koreans wanted something so you wanted it and then you were filled in with intel from JASOC (sp?). This seems to dump you in a world where humans are enemies, civilians are all infected and there's aliens every now and then. Its hard to tell what sides there are what they're fighting for.

Cell are containing the infection, prophet is marked as a priority target as he's supposodly infected hence why theyre trying to take you down. Pretty sure CELL are basically a private army of sorts.
