OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

Wow! That's really impressive! Well done to everyone involved.

Does the community spawner still work so you can make more TNT for the next room? Is that why you started another project, or just fancied a change?

I use my own spawner, (still got 2 double chests of sulphur to use up) but most of it is dug by hand because of the patterns.

It moved location mostly because people had built all over/under where the main part would go so rather than destroy lots of work we moved, also get the new resources out here and the biome has some amazing scenery.

Also it means we can build it bigger and more fancy looking from what we learnt on the last version.

Atm to do list is;

Sort out decorations and lighting in the portal room.

Create some form of room/chamber on the nether side of the portal and collect a lot of light stone etc.

extend side stairs (also find way of making easy path from middle to side at the junction.

Create room above portal room with glass column in centre for the portal occulus (oh I've had a new idea on this btw ill post up a sketch in a bit).

(also apparently in the nether our location is -4500 on the z axis (on normal world we're -35,000) so if we can find the new town might look into making a tunnel or track to their station to connect us.Otherwise it's back top the massive powered canal on the surface.

Lot's to be done and most of it by hand.

But for the next big chamber a lot of tnt will be needed to speed things up and then we're going to need an insane amount of lapiz, gold, iron, obsidian, wool and dyes.

decorating that one will take quite a while but the plan i've got for it will let it be speeded up by having multiple people ,working on different things (assuming we can get volunteers :p).

If someone attaches the full carto, I can look at sorting that out on zoom.it - it just takes a while to render but I can leave it over night if need be :)

Does zoom.it use your main system to render and then is fine for others or is it done on their server? Depending on what way it do it i could use my pc to render it. Takes only 20/30 min to complete it.

Last carto that was huge the system opened it in paint.net in 10min.

hi Emmasteadman,

Why have you removed a large chunk of the hills surrounding newfoundland and built a large cobble building there?

crop from the carto posted today

hill gone and building in its place. i dont mind people extending the town at all, but that hill was obviously landscaped and there for a reason. you should have asked first tbh

Asked first?

There was no claim there at all. Since it was just a bordering hill, i assumed that it was ok to build there. Especially since it's right next to my other building.

I think you're being over protective here for no reason.

I'm currently building a Tudor house there, but seriously I can be put off from developing anything on the ocuk server at all if im questioned each time i build something or need permission to do so at all on undeveloped land. I am very conscientious of where I build, and even improved areas around the build, ie removed cobble and placed grass and sand to keep within the theme of the area.

Don't like it?.....fine roll back what I've done, remove me from whitelist and I'll find a more suitable server from now on.

im not being over-protective at all, i built the thing! i shouldnt have to put a sign on what was obviously purposely built in the first place. I shouldnt have to put signs on absolutely everything i do, not when it's obviously there for a reason. you have to be sensible and draw a line somewhere.

last time you tried to build there it was on land that was clearly flattened for a reason. at least that time you only built an initial floor plan and asked if the land was reserved before continuing but even so, it was about 100x100 in size and perfectly flat. it's pretty clear the land in that area is certainly not undeveloped.

i always ask if i think there may be a prior claim.

This wasn't the case here, the area was part hill, part ignored area.....I checked for signs and the size of my build, during development I improved the area, laying grass, sand and grit to make the area nice. You should check prior pictures for proof that the area was NOT developed, unless you considered that hill which represented only 20% of the area, as developed and thusly everything around it claimed also

This is making me extremely angry and upset.
