Who's joining the queue for iPad 2 on Friday then?

Good on you Hatter, like a good business opportunity, those of you saying it's 'unfair', it's a product which you can resell on for profit, like most businesses do.....whinging about it is pretty pathetic and as for working harder, I think Hatter is working pretty smart there;)

You've gone out of your way to buy up the supply of an item that is in short supply (and you damn well know so) in order to turn a profit. Many people were looking forward to purchasing an iPad at the intended price, from the trusted resellers. Instead, purely because of your own greed and selfishness, others will be forced to pay over the odds and effectively purchase 2nd hand, simply to fund your shortcomings in character.

Perhaps if you worked harder and didnt just try to exploit others (and attempt to boast about the fact), you wouldn't need to be so *****.

I could understand 1 but 14 is shameful.

Basically: You are an ********. :)

Trying to negate the lamery by claiming that you'll donate the extra money to charity is kinda beside the point.

Mass buying gadgets that are in short supply for resale isn't big or clever. You're preying on peoples excitement for something, and that's kinda crappy. Coming on here to brag about it afterwards is pretty dumb though.

I actually queued and got the iPad I went out for today, but I had to endure a couple of hours of painful nerdy smalltalk which I was loitering in the store.

PS: Good luck with your sales. The last few auctions I watched on eBay all just went for lower than the Apple RRP, which is a significant loss when you factor in the fees.

These posts are just...

Hatter has every right to do what he likes, if he can buy 10 iPads and sell them all to starving Apple superfans with too much money, in order to pay for his own iPad2, then why shouldn't he?

Well done Hatter, ethics and morals are for workshy layabout socialists.

But pretty sad the fact someone uses their spare cash to buy 10 iPads to sell on.

2, 3 or 4 maybe but 10 come on!

£4,000+ on iPads!!!!

Oh I know it is quite a large gamble, but I wouldn't think badly of someone for it and brand them a moron like those people have done.

Sad how? In my mind it is good business sense, Apple products hold their value well and people always pay over the odds for them at launch as Apple always manage to get it wrong.

Frankly it is his money and he can do what he likes with it, it is certainally better than blowing it on loads of drinks down the pub everynight thats for sure!

Can anyone who had an iPad 1 and used it daily let me know how the battery life is now? Has it diminished a fair bit?

Ipad 2 battery is every bit as epic as they claim

I gave mine a massive 17 hour first charge.

I started playing with it at about 1pm today and i'm still playing. Been watching youtube, looking at twitter, installing apps, playing games, generally giving it a good hammering.

10 hours later and i've still got 27 % battery left.

10 hours for constant use is easily obtainable. I've put it down to drive to work etc.. so i've not done 11 hours continuous with it But i've easily done 7 hours +

dont suppose anyone knows if anywhere in york have any left?

I checked a lot of places in town yesterday after placing an order at the flying rock place at Clifton Moor. I was 4th on the list for a Wi-Fi 32gb black, but some other models had nobody on the list. I suggest going there and speaking with them about it. They were most helpful. Then you can ask about placing an order with them. The official timescale is a week or two but I'm hoping it'll be a bit sooner. I'm sure Apple will be working hard to meet the demand.

Many places in town didn't get any at all. Seemed to be the big electrical store that got them.

On a side note, I noticed that there will soon be a new Apple reseller store called Stormfront on Coney Street. Says they're opening in April but not sure exactly when. They're bound to have stock when they do open. They're on Coney Street almost opposite H&M.

none of the pc worlds have any in stock :(

@ chokka, did you have to pay anything upfront?

I had to pay in full for mine from the flying ball of ice place in York for a Tuesday delivery.

EDIT and I did find that they were very helpful - much more so that the purple shirted place "Don;t have any and don't know when we will have more". The iceball place did try and push their warranty though, which I politely declined.

Me and a lad from work went to the Apple shop in the Trafford centre at 2pm. The que was massive almost half the upper level to the left of the shop was queing all round the railings. My wife works for a well known phone shop. Who stock Apple stuff but arnt getting the iPad 2 for a week or so. But the a number of shops would be. The trafford centre being one. So we poped in and asked and they said yes that had a small number ready to sell. They had no que and no one had been in to ask.

At 5.05pm I got a phone call from my mate at work who went back to the Trafford centre phone shop for 5pm walked in bought a 32gb wifi iPad 2 no que no fuss with an estamated 150+ people in the que for the Apple shop 8 doors down. Now thats insaine Fan boy/girl marketing I dont know how Apple do it. Its almost like brain washing.

I like Apple stuff my wife has a MBP but to stand in a que all day right next to a shop which stocks the iPad 2 for 5pm but still que in the hope theres some left by time they get to the front just to buy it from a Apple shop. pphhfff i`m in shock.

If thats the way people are over Apple if I had the money to buy 10 and sell for a profit I would at the drop of a hat.
