***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

Finally able to connect to multiplayer servers now. Found the TFU server and had a few games. Liking the maps, a lot going on with a decent size to most of them. Lets hope it stays this stable.

Same here mate, running on the 5850!

Cheers for playing on the server, we cant kick to make room yet cos the server crashes.

Did i stealth your ass a few times haha! :p

possibly:D edit- yes, i remember, i uncloaked and took out 2 guys, was about to run off ot get the tags, and you assasinated me.

Nice to have a good stable server, been enjoying MP, but it is hard to have a decent game.
i'm finding it better to use armour mode most of the time atm. Can't use a heavy machine gun though, have to stick with Assault.
in one game i was 0/7 but got back up to i think 8/10 at the end, then the next game i was 18/3:confused: need to get used to the maps.

Probably be on again later:)

Strife can you show frames as above?

Involved being on foot during that bit with the tank, throwing grenades and firing weapons. Flatlines are on loading screens / desktop.

Running at very high 2560x1440 with an old mobility 5850 radeon card (1075/750). Get 25-30fps but I think the game looks really nice. I loved the first two games too, but after FarCry, Crysis and Warhead, I was ready for some City action. Seems to me that the optimization of the game is fantastic.

Some screens:

Dont really understand the hate to be honest. Perhaps a DX11 patch will make the hardcore gamers happy.

Was ready for some city action too but cannot help but feel it's a bit of a cop-out and not the best use of their creative juices. Aliens taking over New York? Wow...

Anyway. With a graphics renderer like CE3 and the type of optimization they've done I would've LOVED to see a Stalker type game set in Eastern Europe running CE3

so I bought this on steam today after originally having it on the 360 to play with friends, this game is just great, runs like a dream and one of the best looking shooters ive ever seen, and im playing on an outdated 260. makes the console version look like carp

Well curiosity got the better of me and downloaded it for £22 on the pay day deal at D2D.

Not had the chance to put much time in on it but it doesn't look half as bad as I expected. I'm averaging 45fps @ 2560x1440.

Not sure about the suit voice going all the time , reminds me of Fat Harry White from Mark and Lards show ( hmmmmmmm baaaaaby )

Does the music get any better? Sounds really corny

What kind of settings are you playing at just out of interest? :)

Hmm, I would have thought you could put everything on High beh, looking at your specs.

I found with AA etc all on max my min frames start dipping below 50 which is not really playable for me.

RE: Temps - I'm hitting 59C on water. Would imagine that would go up a few degrees with 2 cards! Can someone with an xfire setup post an afterburner screenshot showing average FPS (while in MP) as above?

EDIT: With their settings...

The game is very good so far, but i have only played the multiplayer.

Online seems to be a mixture of Crysis 1 + CoD + Battlefield Bad Company 2, which is fine by me.

The only gripe i have is that to get a killstreak you have to go and physically pick up the dog tag dropped by the person you just killed. If you are sniping or they are in the middle of no-mans-land, then you haven't really got much chance.
I know that you can have a suit perk that automatically collects them, but that means sacrificing other decent perks.

Anyone running it on old hardware? Specifically a 4870 1GB? How does it run?

I'm running it on these specs with very high settings 1920x1080 with no slowdown.

phenom 2 955 @ 3.2ghz
4870 1gb @ 800/1020
4gb ddr3 1333mhz

I've just finished the game and as a fan of crysis 1 i'm dissapointed they didn't explain much of what happened in the gap between the plot's of the games but it was still a fun experience. They said there would be added emphasis on the story and even hired a professional writer, Richard Morgan to write the story but it's hardly stellar. Still I would rate the game an 8/10 (crysis 1 being a 9/10 for reference).
