Who's joining the queue for iPad 2 on Friday then?

Well, mine turned up just now. Will have to go back or go to an Apple store or something though as it has awful backlight bleed. Not happy.

I wont mind a bit of bleed as many LCD screens have these issues, (though you shouldn't expect it from Apple) but if its noticable in general use I'll be getting it replaced in future.

Aye if mine suffers from BLB I'm keeping it for a couple of weeks until the fuss dies down and they can replace within a couple of days, not weeks/months.

I expect I will do the same. Will do some comparison shots vs my iPad1 to illustrate the bleed in a bit.

That would be much appreciated from this end as I can then compare and work out how annoyed I'm going to be when mine arrives :)

Did the first gen suffer from this problem? I thought it was the same screen? Maybe a bad 1st batch, you'd think they'd quality control a little better when needing to maintain dominance in the tablet market in 2011.

The first iPad didn't have the problem on this sort of scale.

The screen technology is the same but the materials/thickness/etc are different so that could contribute to the problems.

I cannot wait to get mine and play on garageband.

First thing i'm doing is learning those 4 chords axis of Awesome use and play like I know what i'm doing :D

OK here we go. Taking a picture of a black screen is hard so I apologise for the noisy pics.
The iPad1 looks like it has bleed in these pictures but it doesn't, just a result of the picture/reflections in the room.

iPad2 on it's own

Both pics are with the iPads on 75% brightness which is where I normally have my iPad1.

That is similar to the other pictures I've seen.

I think I could live with that for the time being but I would certainly want it swapping in future.

Apple's standards are slipping a bit with the new manufacturing processes. Just like the screen problems the iPhone 4 had. I appreciate there is a massive demand and they need to make them quickly, but they could push the launch/announcements back a bit further surely.

Cheers.

Yeah i'd certainly be sending it back once the demand dies down. Wouldn't fancy walking in to an apple shop demanding a replacement for BLB when loads of people are queuing just to get hold of one.

Can you notice it when in apps etc?
