X300 vgpu mod

Have a look and see if you can find a *GDDR3* X1650XT or a *GDDR3* HD3650.

Might be worth searching a well know auction site for a - Sapphire Radeon HD 3650 512M GDDR3 PCI-E DUAL DVI-I/TVO -

lol Suspended. im not being a misery guts but i mean come on i get 40 quid a month from doing near to nothing and isnt most of ocuk a bunch of misery bums or is that just gd :p

unsuspended yey:D:D
But back to my gpu i did some reasearch (who wud have thought:eek::p;)) any way i searched up on some of the chips and found out 1 of the chips controlled the vmem and i attempted to do a pencil mod on it without knowing the resistance or nothing it worked i got it up to 263mhz on the mem so i penciled abit more and oops is that burning it turned out that it went wrong well dur so i rubbed the pencil off and done it again i got 274mhz on the mem so far but i wont do more as it stock cooling apart from the fan but still cant do anything on the core though

To push it any more you will need to overvolt it, and to do that will require far too much tampering around to supply the power as you will be approaching the bus limit.

That card doest have external power does it ?

One way to get round it is detach the fan from the power board on the gpu and mod your psu to supply power directly to the fan. This will take some of the load off the bus slot that you can put into the card.

I respect you for doing this. Old tech or no old tech its fun to mess around with stuff.

now added bigger fan to gpu and iv blew my psu by trying a old mobo i had in the attic and the mobo was dodgy so no psu :( still the gpu and my main rig lives on... without a psu

I really don't see the sense in breaking old hardware just because you are bored. If that old motherboard didn't brick your PSU, then I imagine your need/want to overclock everything would do eventually, and as others have said I am quite frankly suprised the GPU still powers up...

OLD HARDWARE WAS BUILT TO LAST

sorry but i'd like to see you oc your 6950's at 80%from adding a fan :D
*edit*i see it looks like you already have in ure sig but i bet thats not %80

erm, I don't know what to say to that to be honest. What would you like me to say? There really is no point in me thinking of anything to say...
