Well this looks awesome!.. Asus Eee Transformer Tablet

4 copies a store is a massive missed opportunity on this i think. I can only assume that its just a tester to see if any are returned with defects etc and itll get a proper launch when the keyboard becomes available.

Rumours are that "Icecream" will integrate 2.4/3.0 and Google TV. Hopefully this will get updated with that, whenever it arrives ^

Just ordered mine on line, delivery apparently Friday £360.99 :D

May get the keyboard at a later date.

As I want a Tablet not a netbook ;)

Probably should've waited for the Samsung tablets (or 16GB iPad 2) in a few weeks, the transformer tablet section doesn't have USB input, only the basic propriety dock connector and it's much thicker (although it does have a micro SD slot and HDMI out)
The transformer is best for those looking for a netbook replacment/part time tablet.

(Edit, the Transformer's propriety 40 pin socket will handle charging/PC sync, similar to the iPad but the USB ports are only on the keyboard)

^^^ does the samsung have a usb input? i didnt think it did.

All these new android tablets are pretty much the same so unless you want the really slim samsung i's get the asus now instead of having to play the waiting game. Plus the asus has a good IPS planel.

It'll have either a mini USB or MHL port (not sure about charging, they could do something entirely separate like the Xoom or both USB/proprietary socket for speed)
(also the Samsung's will get PLS screens. Better than IPS? we'll see soon enough)

The Samsungs have the same proprietory port as the old Tab don't they? Which has TV out, USB all built into it, similar to the Transformer?

Thats a good price, £20 cheaper than anywhere I can see. Where is it?

Seems a bit of a strange choice though if you aren't interested in the keyboard part, that's the unique selling point of the device and obviously compromises will have been made to accomodate it.

So if my TV supports HDMI but not MHL does that mean I'll not be able to charge & output to my TV at the same time? so effectively you can only watch a film if you've got enough battery left to last the 2+ hours

Don't need USB input ;)

Not really, the tab itself seems to be the best 10.1" I can find for a good price.

Fair enough, although I guess a lot of tablet only devices are about to hit the market. Where did you get it for that price? I'm tempted to cancel my order and get the keyboard later if it's available for £360 without. Can't find anywhere less than £379 though.

I would only want it withthe keyboard. I would want to see how sturdy the connector is. My current laptop may need replacing, and this sounds like a high tech replacment!

At the checkout at the space rock shop put in 5OFF in the voucher box for 5% off plus another 2.5% via QuidCo ;)

If anyone has actually got one these can they confirm whether the card slot is working or not. I have read elsewhere that no Honeycomb tablets will have working card slots until a Honeycomb update. Some big UK online sellers state that the card slot requires a software update but the Asus "official" spec makes no mention of it being non-functional at launch?
