Will hopefully go have a play with one on Wednesday. Can't imagine what tablets are going to be like in the Summer if this is already getting released..

I am definitely trying to decide between this transformer and an Ipad 2 and its a damn hard decision. But I am liking the fact the Asus has the Keyboard, my only concern or question is if ASUS sorted out using the keyboard to do ctrl c to copy as it originally couldn't do this.

Also has anyone seen the 32GB model out yet and how much this would be with a Keyboard as everyone I have seen so far has been the 16gb model?

Will have to go have a play and see if they have or haven't sorted the copying out.

I bought the mac bluetooth keyboard for my iPad 2, and you can stand it up with the smart cover = laptop style

About £90 or so combined. I'm not saying they are better than the Transformer base, but they are nice.

Well after a bit more research today ive pre-ordered and decided to sell my ipad and netbook

I got my ipad in Hong Kong for a great price in november and my netbook has barely been on since, I never have been a fan of apple however and many things like itunes, lack of connectivity storage wise and lack of flash never really made it fell like a complete solution to me

Looking forward to playing with this

^^^ Good decision mate - I understand what you mean about the ipad...it just doesn't have the functionality I want from a tablet.

That appears to be the case so far ........

I have emailed the Purple Shirt people and they say "At the moment we do not have any stock details for the Asus Eee Transformer"

I have emailed Comet and they say "Upon checking availability of this item I can advise that this product is an online only item and cannot be purchased/collected at our stores"

This counteracts what AsusUK say on Twitter and also what their press-release says, guess will have to wait and see what happens, but its not a good sign so far as Asus saying one thing and the store's saying something different

When I called Comet to query I was told only 4 units per store have been allocated, these are just the pad's without the keyboard docks.

So if ya want one in your area you better be quick with only 4 allocated per store !

Was just wondering if anyone on here had some links or further information about this Asus Mynet thing that comes with the transformer? Sounds interesting and maybe what I am looking for but can't find any information on it.

Yes.

So it looks like it's only the version without the keyboard that is on sale today? I guess the date of the 18th is for the keyboard version then.

Surely it's not actually a 'Transformer' without the keyboard, it's just an Eee Pad. It's like buying Optimus Prime but it only stays as a lorry.

Yep thats what i was told when i phoned Comet, they only have the pad without the keyboard at the moment, keyboard package and keyboard sold separately will be available at a later date, i guess this is the same for Currys and PCWorld etc.

This with the fact that only 4 units are being sent to each store, its a bit of a pi$$ poor launch of what looks to be a really good product.

Just ordered mine on line, delivery apparently Friday £360.99

May get the keyboard at a later date.

As I want a Tablet not a netbook
