Don't be daft. Given the vast resources needed to afford and run a Ferrari 599, surely you'd be looking at the much prettier and much more modern DB6 ?

And A Diablo ? C'mon now seriously. The 599 is better than the diablo in just about every way. Remember that the majority of Diablos were made before VAG ownership. The interior on the early ones is absolutely shocking. Observe:

Clearly, none of the cars you've listed are actually "better" cars. There are just ones you'd prefer because you've got some kind of issue with ferrari owners.

I made the statement I would rather drive a car I feel a part of - rather than one that has pretty much everything altered or controlled by computers.

Again, moronic misquotes - where did I say it was boring? Where did I even imply it? Again, personal involvement - having never said I have driven these cars I would shocked if indeed I had personal experience, genius.

However, I have read several articles and reviews and have formed my opinions from them.

Ironically the whole reason for this little debate is because you appeared to do exactly that to somebody else who felt somebody with a 599 had 'won at life'.

Back in the real world, any petrol head worth his salt would give up their left testicle to own a 599. The exhaust note, altered or not, is one that shivers down your spine and will live with you forever. This is the same engine thats in the Enzo incidentally, the car that represents the pinnacle of Naughties Ferrari engineering.

To kid yourself otherwise just makes you look a fool.
 
To top it all off, You can put the 599 into race mode yes? turning off all the "computer controlling your life" stuff.

I've a feeling if Cookeh was to actually try his choices and then the 599 he would be of a different mind.

If you think the SLR McLaren is completely devoid of driving aids you are mistaken also.

Acceleration Skid Control (ASR)

Fox, I did not intentionally, "pull up" someone's opinion to have a dig at it. I pulled it up to offer my contrasting opinion, which of course, because I'm 18 and not a regular here in Motors had to be demolished and me shamed. Right?

So how many cars do you think I've driven? 2? Maybe 3? You'd be right about the latter.

So tell me, how else am I supposed to form an opinion on cars, other than reading articles and reviews?

We all know how easy it is to go out and test drive every car, right? Even at your age I'm sure you'd struggle to get a test drive for some of the cars found in this thread.

So how have you formed your opinions? By doing exactly the same thing as me, so what makes you so right and me so wrong?

I genuinely would rather have the cars I stated before than a 599 - that's my opinion and my preference. It's not stupid or silly.

By all means, be my guest and buy a 599 if you have a spare £200k to spend on a car, I just know I wouldn't.

EDIT: ZG002, I know full well that the SLR is far from devoid of driving aids, it was just a car I would rather own at the £200k price point.

I'd give my left testicle to be able to drive either for longer than a few hours, let alone own one.

I will happily admit that I could have phrased that much better, my original point was that in my opinion, and if I had "won at life" I wouldn't get a 599.

Who said I wouldn't. Even if there are cars I would rather own I would jump at the chance to drive it.
Doesn't mean, however, there aren't cars out there I would rather drop £200k on.
