Five quid for Dark Angels DLC who would pay that for DARK Angels not Blood nonono Dark angels. The emo marines.

Relic should forget about Space Marines and make Mkoll the game.

So much talk about the single player in this thread. Which confuses me as isn't the single player like 3 hours long?

This has definitely put me off buying this until its price goes down.. they sell it as a huge single player which it isn't, but then there isn't much change to the multiplayer either so im not sure where the price of a full game has come from.

I have only played Retribution on single player so far and Steam tells me I have played it for 45 hours. Still have the Ork campaign to finish.

Getting some good play time out of Retribution since I got it in the sale. Mostly been playing the odd Last Stand but decided to dive into the Tyranid campaign earlier.

Very different to DoW2, but it doesn't seem like the specialisation goes deep enough what with there only been a dozen missions. Most of the rewards that you get to choose are very poor wargears for your hero, infantry unlocks or infantry abilities. Most of the genuinly good wargear you get as a drop or a guaranteed reward and sometimes you just don't get the option of unlocking something for infantry that you actually want which makes specialising extremely slow and by the time you've got something going the campaign is more or less over.

Heh also finally got around to buying this... drop cyrus for some terminators... have the rest of ur champions as normal... dont both with any of the squads as they insta gib against anything in the later levels...

Have completed the SM campaign may play the IG one but i think its time for some skirmishes until i am good enough to get back into the online game

Tyranid Squads were epic. The Ork vehicle level was a joke. I just got 5 groups of Venom Cannon Warriors who just took down every vehicle in seconds and other levels I tended to use 1 Lichtor, 1 Warrior squad, 1 Zoanthrope and swarmed the rest of my population with free Genestealers that my hero could summon. Still got a level or 2 to go I think.

Finally went back and finished this with my Eldar squad. It was good but it felt like they didn't know the lore very well. The warlock seemed to be making all the decisions regarding the future instead of the farseer

Is it worth doing it with the other armies or does it just feel like the same thing reskinned?

Well no each army will have a different approach and strategies, though I think the maps are supposed to be fairly similar.

Gotta say the Hive Tyrant is pure awesomeness in The Last Stand once you reach lvl15. I could barely make it past wave 9 on a regular basis with the useless minion builds you get lumbered with, but the moment I hit 15 and got the half energy cost item I've been slaughtering things with Toxic Miasma. Up to lvl19 now and had so many good rounds today, including 1 where our 3rd player dropped on wave 8 Anvil and me and a Farseer managed to reach wave 19 before dieing.

Also I swear the Lord Generals 'Vanquisher Turret' is bugged... for you it does no splash damage and almost no damage, plus it misses half the time. When the doppelganger spawned it... it was doing ridiculous amounts of damage and could probably have killed us all single handed.

I've put hundreds of hours into the DoW II multiplayer and I love it, though the learning curve is somewhat killer it has to be said. If you're interested in playing though its worth checking out project l2p, as they help new players get to grips with the game http://www.projectl2p.com/.

Come to the conclusion that the first 2 or 3 levels just aren't indicative of how hard the campaign is going to be...

Space Marines on Very Hard, first level, not too bad, second level, pain in the arse, third level, equally big pain in the arse, fourth level, went quite smoothly, fifth level onwards, turned into a roflstomp.
Finally got everyone some armour and a couple of items that increase AR for allies too, Martellius can call in a dreadnought and spam a single turret. Ancient is now using a Lascannon and is basically shredding vehicles (and infantry) at extreme range and can call in huge artillery strikes. Cyrus is... well shooting everything with a sniper rifle. Commander is nearly invincible to small arms fire and restores allies health on hit and has just received armour with 'permanent infiltration' on it which is going to make assault jumping very funny.

Just ordered Dawn of War 2 Retribution - Collectors Edition, I enjoyed the 1st DOW2 but never played online thow,
Anyone here still play Retribution online?

I ordered it to, looks good, wasn't keen on the imperial guard but the single player aspects look good and I pretty much only play Last Stand online to

I would play but between DX:HR and League of Legends, and the odd bit of Starcraft DoW is currently 4th on my gaming schedule and its rare that it gets a game

Steam rolled past the first two games to get to this one but have since got distracted by the multiplayer. Really enjoying the multiplayer even though I haven't had great luck with every other game contains a lagger or a leaver.

So i'm guessing there are still many people playing online atm? I have finally gotten bored of C&C 3 so though try this out, going to be strange not having a base to build thow.

Im sure the auto match will always find you a game, wouldn't have thought the community is especially massive though. Happy to have the odd game if people wanna say hi on steam.
