Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

Theres tons I havent seen in game. Its such a capable game but most times I die shortly after the enemy is seen.

I was flying a mission with A10 dogfighting and infinite respawns midair the other day though.
Completely the wrong type of aircraft of course but I believe there was at least 6 different choices to load on that mission

as soon as I am looking at a town / city I get a huge drop.

cities tax the CPU as they contain more polygons. Its not normal, reinstall and try a different OS or whatever.

Post screenshots of task manager and those programs I mentioned. Ask on the BIS forums.

Reminds me of the guy with an i7 who found he was using 1 core the entire time :o

Me too, been playing a lot lately and I just cant get enough of the game. Need to find a good group to play with as theres been little to no communication on most of the servers Ive played on :(.

yea im now looking for a new clan myself. got a few on my radar. make a post in the arma 2 forum under clan/fan page and there is a dedicated thread there somewhere for people looking for a clan.

ive been thinking of getting this, is the single player any good or is it mainly multi? Also ive seen its super realistic and that theres millions of controls, i love games like bf2 but im worried if i buy this it will be too realistic to just chill and have fun... Although all the screenies and vids look so good visually but its all about gameplay really

The single player is half decent in arrowhead but mutiplayer is the main draw.
Controls are fine, Ive been playing since OpFlash so the controls and radio commands are second nature but the essentials are very easy to pickup.

It is quite hardcore by the standards of the average shooter but the online coop mode is a lot of fun. Grouping up to take down a series of ai held towns is just great.

The community is friendly, theres tons of custom content but the learning curve can seem steep. It's the sort of game where you get out what you put in and can be very rewarding.

Depends on the server how chilled people play it. But it pretty much always needs patience before you see any big fights

Run and gun straight action is probably left with the arcade games. On the otherhand arma can be much more overkill style, sometimes you get to use far more weaponary.
I think its possible to carry a machinegun, a rocket launcher and a mini uzi at once if you want. Then you got nades, maybe a halo parachute, night sight, infrared scope, everything basically. It favours the people who like all that, its mostly wide area not the indoors fights of CS

Just realised recently I can load with a grenade launcher and about 50 different nades on most missions if I like :)
BC2 its like 2 because its not realistic, they have to impair the lethality also

Just tried armamark bench 2 and got 7fps :o
pinks sig setup would be far better there though

Was just playing it co-op on the PcGamer server.

Hmm to be fair its still £30 on steam, i think ill aquire a copy from somewhere(unless theres a demo?) to try the single player to get a feel for it, then if i like it ill buy it and play with some of you guys online when im noob lol. I dont have a mic though do you need one for online?

ok mybad, does the demo include multi player and do i need a mic or can you just type like mad to your squad?

I have no idea if the demo includes multi player, probably not.

You can type like mad if you want, a mic makes it a lot easier though.

There are chat and voice channels, so you can voice chat or text chat to your entire team, everyone in game or just your squad.

Steam demo includes a small mission and if people are online you do it together. That is arma really, single player is for learning vehicles maybe

Mic is required online because its directional, text would only do for deathmatch type playing
