Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

Stock Campaign and Scenarios. Not got to the editor yet, still playing through the rest before I create my own. :)

At the moment I'm sticking to vanilla, as playing with mods raises too many errors. :p
 
I am thinking of buying this game as I enjoyed playing Arma 2 online, but the online seems dead on it. If anyone still plays it, what server do you play on?
 
i got this and i cant install it get to the last file and it comes up with a crc error from the disc any1 got any info on how to fix this ?
 
emm never though about that would it work ? + internet not extreamly fast 3.5 meg :( its just arrowhead am having issues with normal arma2 installs fine

Found a good server called UnitedOperations. They actually do proper player vs player games instead of co-op all the time which I think I much prefer, less bs

As always arma 2 is not easy to setup but the instructions they gave did eventually work for me and seems to be well worth it
 
Have you tried the single player campaigns or missions ? Thats a good way to get the basic controls and movement, then look for a friendly clan or team who take inexperienced players and show them the ropes. The BIS forum is also a good place with threads dedicated to helping new starters. http://forums.bistudio.com/ . Note that it is not a COD / BF type game but can include the logistical side of things like getting to theatre, ammo supply, air support - the game options are a vast kit bag where players determine the type and scale of game to be played.

Oh, and many clans/servers specify addons and mods which can/must be used, so getting used to including those is a useful knowledge to pick up.

They are not that extreme except the mission briefing is like 15 mins sometimes

Another server I found with TvT was called Taskforce blackjack. Seemed to be fairly deathmatchy so wasting an A10 would probably go more unnoticed there





I hope PR will standardise and simplify just joining & playing minus the tacticool crap that makes this game so often obstructive to play

Yep thats me every time pretty much :D I get lost with whose speaking to me from where, my stereo isnt that good.
Doesnt help if people dont say compass directions

Press space a lot and it'll show name tags a bit more easily but it is easy to lose whatever squad your in.
K is compass to help with M for map, if you double click the task and put a tick it will give some guidance on screen sometimes


Disc at the bottom shows friendlys and your squad basically, think its part of ACE mod:

Ok, I want to get in to ArmaA 2 as I've just ordered TrackIR5 and starting to like sims, where is the best place and cheapest place to get this and what do I need to be all up to date with it. I posted on the ArmA 2 forums but wanted to see others opinions.
 
Nevermind £30 for both on steam, can't complain at that :)

Mmm what kind of problems with mods?

Also Havoc Company decent? Might apply as they seem like they're very organized and I like it!
