Which game would you defend to the death?

Demon's Souls, I think it's the only game I dislike to hear criticised. Usually because people do so for reasons that stem from them being crap at it or expecting to be hand fed achievements and to never be punished for failure.

Portal 1/2 are very close contenders but I feel very differently about them compared to DS.

On the flipside, i have a game like The Witcher. I really didn't enjoy it, couldn't get int it at all, and found it quite boring tbh, but i can see how some people do really like it, and i will say that it is a great game, even though i, personally couldn't get into it.

Same actually, I played it through but never did see the game others seem to. I think I just found it a bit silly.

i've been playing for around a month now, in prep for the second game(which does look great btw) and i am around 20 hours in, but i am really struggling to get through. Have to force myself to play tbh. Some of it has been enjoyable, but it think that i just don't feel the atmosphere if anything.

Knights of the Old Republic 2. Like VTM Bloodlines, a buggy (on release) title with obvious signs of being rushed with such a short development cycle. If you looked past the flaws and used one or two fan patches the game was exemplary.

Kreia was clearly a spin on Chris Avellone's earlier writing for Ravel in Planescape Torment, and for once the Jedi didn't look like saints. Oh, and Revan\HK-47's characters had more development than the first game.

Not only is HK-47's dialogue awesome in that conversation, his advice actually works in the game (choosing the right speech options to make Sion doubt himself for example, or planting mines when fighting the Jedi Masters).

Baldur's Gate II

and

Planescape Torment

Nothing compares to them..

*edit, odd i seem to be paraphrasing the poster above... BG really is the best rpg ever though!
