Good point. One shot seriously does you a whole season? How long does your hayfever last normally?

Mines been fine so far this year, it's there at night but during the day it's been relatively symptomless so far. Usually by now I'm suffering

Normally from late march until august/september with a peak around may

Symptoms are fine at the moment and taking Tesco's on Loratadine, Beconase and Opticrom

This was quite a bad year. Tree pollen is my weakness, but it seems to be tailing off now.

Thankfully, I don't feel the effects of grass pollen.

Is that the steroid shot? and that's why they don't like giving it, its seen as a last resort. when I use to get it insanely bad, use to get two shots a year. But then my eyes use to swell shut regularly.

Thankfully it's not that bad these days and can just about cope with over the counter medicine, eye drops, nasal sprays.

I only started getting it a few years back. Generally just get itchy eyes and those Hydrowotsis tablets do me fine + they're super cheap.

Mine has been on and off last 2 weeks but really bad when I get it.

My right eye has been dreadful really itchy and sore bit watery. I have some drops the doctor gave me but seems to have done very little.

Got some Asda cheapo tablets as most are the same and they don't seem to have worked all that well either, Piriton used to work really well not tried it for a bit.
Last year it wasn't all that bad and it had been getting less and less for the few years, this year is going to be rubbish though.

Was in the shower, I look down and I'm standing in blood "Ahhh wtf!!"

A few years ago I went to Silverstone for the day, had like 2-3 of them lasting like 15-30 minutes each :S

I found at the age of around 16 I got it terribly until 18 and then after that it has been easing off although that may be due to me moving to Plymouth. I'm currently only using Beconase at the moment and it's working fine. Also when it was bad I found sunglasses used to help quite a lot as it would act as a physical barrier. Definitely shower regularly as previously mentioned. If you're really struggling go see a doctor as they may perscribe something stronger, also if you're using beconase they may put you on nasonex which is a suped up beconase and it worked great for me when I had a bad cough that wouldn't shift due to hayfever.

if you are using nasal sprays try not using them for a while, i stopped using them completely and my nose bleeds cleared up unless i get too hot then it just erupts but i feel much better after its bled for some reason, maybe its just releasing pressure in there?

i suffer from it really badly, infact i get it so bad that my eyes are so itchy when i itch then the protective layer around the eye just comes apart and ends up being a lump of jelly in the corner of my eye

and prescription tabs don't work very well usually, but i went out on a walk around some garden yesterday and i was fine when i took one, apart from a few sneezes

I get hayfever quite badly. Best thing I ever did for it was buy an air purifier. I leave it on in a room with closed windows and doors during the summer. If I get hayfever I know I can go in there and be ok again after a few minutes. If it was quieter I'd leave it on when I sleep but mine is a bit too noisy for that - instead I 'clean' the room with it before I sleep and then turn it off. Best £35 I've ever spent (it was quite a few years ago!).

Anyone read the ingriedients of the hayfever pills....alereze..piriton..boots own stuff....etc etc etc its all exactly the same.....ha ha ha ha.........no wonder it never does anything for me.

Of course it's the same, well actually theres two main ingredients for over the counter ones, so try what ever the opposite one is, or go to the doctors and get something stronger.

The only one which ever worked for me was Zirtek, back years ago it was really expensive. Luckily now all the supermarkets sell their own brand version of it (cetirizine hydrochloride) so I just buy loads of Asda/Tesco own brand version instead.

It seems worse than usual for me this year, the last few days I've been taking 2 pills a day (of the 1-a-day pills).
