The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Posted info in this thread before but seems like the below is the easy way of doing the upgrade

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blade-roms-rom-customisation/337798/gen1-to-gen2-tpt-upgrade/

EDIT IF YOU ARE ALREADY GEN2 ID USE THE WINDOWS TOOL ON MODACO

I am already on Gen2 running CM7, I might be getting a little confused - I just couldn't remember what partition I used the first time around and I thought I might have been able to freeup some space.

Cheers

Well you could do it again,

All info you need is:

http://android.modaco.com/content/z...281/how-to-upgrade-gen1-to-gen2-windows-only/

Read the link but basic info from that is:

Download Stock FTM recovery from http://www.mediafire.com/?kx76glmuxym6adp

Use ROM manager to install it.

Download the GEN2 Update http://www.mediafire.com/?dl9wettauw6vk7h - Install the USB drivers.

CODE
gen2_136mb_system_no_oem_15mb_cache
---------------------------------------
/dev/block/mtdblock4 15.0M /cache
/dev/block/mtdblock5 136.0M /system
/dev/block/mtdblock6 289.88M /data

Then download your GEN2 Rom - I'm using the CM7 TEMP rom http://kan.gd/c4s

I did it twice and it was okay but if you arent running out of space it might be best to leave it.

Mine:

Internal
Total: 290MB
Used: 135MB
Free: 155MB

Then I have my SD card and 2nd partition as well.

I just left it as it is and put the latest version on. :)

However I'm having another issue - I tested Doodle Jump out and the sensitivty on my phone seems to have gone really strange, not precise at all.

Do I have to calibrate it some how?

Thanks

No idea what's up with my phone.

It seems to have reverted to the ROM I was using a couple of weeks ago, and whenever I click something it pops up with:
Code:
The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Cleared the cache etc?

Yep. The error message appeared yesterday so I restarted the phone, and it returned with the old wallpaper etc. Although it appears it is still running swedish spring and not my previous ROM.

Um, maybe that's part of your problem.

Wipe everything then start over.

Have done now, just hope it stays this way.

I wasn't able to backup my messages as I couldn't open the message application, I've got a feeling I've missed some this morning too :(

Go to the market and download SMS backup and restore. It simply backs up and restores all your SMS messages into their threads. Useful when going from one ROM to another.

The new CM7 also drained my battery totally over night - Anyone else had this issue?

I just installed one of the task managers that auto-kills apps when the screen turns off, as the missus has been plagued with this on many ROM's I've tried, it seems some apps just do something in the background that kills the battery ( It always seemed to be after she used Google Nav).. since I put the task manager on, it's been plain sailing..

Thinking of bagging one of these, sorry if it's been answered before but are they all tft screens now or have they started oleds again? or does it even matter, just ive heard oled is better for battery?

got TFT my self.. really nothing wrong with it.. can't see this as a reason not to get it.. :)

Q about ROM - running JJRLS9 at the moment kinda feel like updating to the SSRLS5 but not sure if there's any real benefit? i mean the ROM i use now has crashed ~5times over 3 weeks.. thats the only "problem" other than that im really happy with

48hrs+ battery life
no BUGS i have found

and it just works..

should i move to SSRLS5?
