I've done nothing of the sort - I've not even referenced the OP or spoken about his specific circumstances in a single post.

My first reply was to you, not the OP. The only 'judging' was by you, of us, and my reply was in defence to that.

I'd be more sympathetic if you were unluckily caught doing 80-90mph on a normal stretch of motorway but speeding through a 50mph zone with average speed cameras and plenty of warnings at the time is just asking for it.

I paid it when I got home anyway. They'd have probably sent the fine to the rental company, then there would be an admin charge, etc etc and frankly I did break the law, so meh?

For 9 mph over the limit, I wouldn't be surprised if you're offered a course and fine....nil points.

'Judging' in the sense where I'm referring to previous posts of a similar nature its very easy to predict what cynical members will say and while you're being picky (which isn't a rare occurence tbh) I'll highlight my statement as you intend on being so anal about these things

Just out of personal interest, with the average speed cameras, does it work it out from one camera to the next? Or over the whole system?

Imagine 'O' is a camera and '--' is the road.

Does it work it out at each camera: O--O--O--O--O
Or does it do it over the whole thing: O-------------O

If you get what I mean?

As far as I was aware it is between the points that you pass a camera. So if you enter a SPECs section halfway through (or indeed leave part way through the section) it is done on the cameras that 'get' you. If that is the first and last of the section you were on or every single one of them, not a clue.
But it is my understanding from previous threads on the topic that if you were to only go past two cameras, at over the limit, you should receive a NIP.

As for Gtiracer....whut? I do find it funny when someone has a go at someone for 'picking something to pieces' and 'arguing they are right' when they themselves do exactly that in opposition, then give up and run away tail between legs.
