Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword

Cheers for the heads up on the steam availability - just got it and am really looking forward to May 3rd :)

As has been mentioned above, if you haven't played mount&blade before then just skip the first game and go straight to warband. Warband has the same map as in the original game, its just slightly bigger with one more faction and there are added quests and features (eg become king, get married) which make the game even more interesting to play. Also, it has multiplayer which is really quite good.

For £4 its an absolute bargain.

If you got warband try this mod.

The stuff added is great but not sure if it's good for new starters as it has some very hard enemies running about with sick weapons and armor.

And they can wipe out your troops out easy if you don't know how take control of the battlefield quick.

Just told my gf i am buying a game that only cost £8.99 she gave me such a dirty look :( yet she spent over £60 on clothes the other day lol.

lol thats terrible. Just bought Warband btw, can't wait to try it out... looks like fun.

Awesome price considering I looked on Steam a few hours ago and was disappointed with the £20 price tag. They probably saw my post. :D

Get Warband on Steam, should be able to pick it up fairly quickly. The combat will have you frustrated as hell at the start - you'll probably spend a lot of time getting wiped out by random bandits - but once you get to grips with it, it's an absolute gem. Incredibly addictive game.

Exactly this in my experience. Nearly gave up in the first few hours. Took me a long time to get the hang of the combat, but once I did I was utterly hooked.

The original was a bit rough around the edges, but the combat engine was really amazingly enjoyable, and it just feels like a grand reproduction of medieval combat in a way no other game has come close to.

I'd completely forgotten about Fire and Sword. Was one of those games that always seemed way off in the future, so pleased to see it's out so soon. Will definitely be checking it out.

But then again, I lost a lot of my life to M&B... not sure I'm ready to get sucked in so much again...

Mount and Blade are great games but you need to give them a little time, it took me a lot of hours of play to finally be able to counter 2 handed melee users online, can quite happily take them on now.

Nothing more rewarding than using on a throwing axe into the face of the enemy or someone on a horse :D

I Downloaded the demo and sunk about 3 hours into it this morning, Your right, its rather addictive :P,
Ill get warband then and then see if i like the look of Fir and Blade when it comes out, did i see a handgun in it?

Just pre ordered M&B: with Fire & Sword :D

Can't wait and see what mods come out for this :)

Almost wet myself as i was looking on gamespot and seen the Release date Jun 3 2011 :(

I quickly opened steam to check when the game is unlocked then i was happy again :D

4 days to go not a bloody month lol.
