****Official Fallout New Vegas Thread****

Make a seperate new game where you befriend all the side factions (except for BoS) and then save. You can then do all the other ending achievements after that in about an hour.

Oh thanks! :)

I didn't realise, I thought you had to do all the sub factions once for each main faction. Epic fail. :(

At least I can just do it once and save, really wasn't looking forward to doing it another three time, I don't even have fun playing it any more, I'm just doing it for the achievements now.

guys

just started the game and im about to help that guy at the gas station fight the NCR.

if i want to follow and support the ncr in the game should i avoid helping him?

not sure where to start?

any help on what first to do.

thanks

Good thing about it (if you plan on 1000/1000 it) is that if you do all the side quests achievements you get all factions friendly that you need, when doing the main quests the places are already clear so you can just pick the stuff up in the vaults. Also you should then be almost 22-23 before the doing the main quest so it's easy to get lvl 30 and weapon damage cheevos.

I felt like that toward tge end of it, especially the heal 10000 hp with food one. But now I have a glorious Platinum for it!

Might be an idea to play something else for a bit.

Don't worry about upsetting the main factions beyond the point of return. You'll get a warning before that happens, plus I don't think you can upset any of the main factions that early in the game, nothing that will stop you from doing quests or siding with who you want. :)

Yeah I kinda screwed up... I deleted my level 24 save and now I'm back at level 15... The only upside is that I should be able to get some of the "deal X amount of damage" achievements without grinding so much. Still... I'm a retard. :p

Yeah I do like FO3 and NV but they do drag on a little bit once you've completed the game and seen most of what there is to see. Plus I think the cheevos in NV are kinda crappy... The ones in Fallout 3 were great, killing all the Behemoths, doing all the named sidequests and stuff like that, whereas NV ones seem to require ridiculous amounts of grinding. :(

Still, I've got Alan Wake, Fifa and CoD to play when I get fed up of NV. :)

Some DLC information from Bethesda!!

Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road announced.

Bethesda said today it will release three downloadable content packs for Fallout: New Vegas in the coming months simultaneously on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road will see monthly releases starting this May through July. Each pack will cost $9.99 (800 Microsoft points).

Below are the details for each content pack per Bethesda:
Honest Hearts, available May 17, takes you on an expedition to the unspoiled wilderness of Utah's Zion National Park. Things go horribly wrong when your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. As you try to find a way back to the Mojave, you become embroiled in a war between tribes and a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burned Man. The decisions you make will determine the fate of Zion.

In Old World Blues, releasing in June, you will discover how some of the Mojave's mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You'll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat.

Lonesome Road, available in July, brings the courier's story full circle when you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of New Vegas. In his transmission, Ulysses promises the answer as to why, but only if you take one last job –a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned.

I am very excited!

Sorry for the thread bump but I'm about 40 hours on my current save and I'm starting to get the odd crash and a bit of stuttering, also the load times seem to be taking much longer than they were before and sometimes when I'm talking to somebody the game will just freeze from anywhere between 10 seconds to indefinitely.

I've just installed it to the HDD and I'm going to play it all morning and see if it's any better. Did installing it to the HDD improve performance for anybody here? I've read that not all games benefit from being installed to the hard drive.

K1LLSW1TCH it might be to do with your game save data i am sure people mentioned this about fallout 3 also but not sure how you go about making it better .

Yeah I've heard that one as well. When I had FO3 on the PS3 deleting the game data didn't seem to solve my problem, the engine this game runs on seems to be very inconsistent, with some people having no problems and others having a lot of problems.

Oh, and I've still got Michael Angelo's bloody camera in my inventory. -_-

possible spoiler:

Check that out: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Come_Fly_With_Me

When I played it through I had to kill them because I couldn't figure out how to get to Davison without them seeing me, and you can't really run away from them. Plus I think I had a companion at that point who probably just started shooting at them. A good thing to do is to try and get to Freeside, if you've got 10 luck you can just keep playing Blackjack and you'll soon have a lot of caps to spend on guns and better armour to take them on. :)

Easiest way is to have a follower with you (Cass is a good choice) and also a good fast weapon such as a 10mm sub-machine gun.

It might be easier if you have a companion with you boone etc and make sure you have at least one decent weapon i used the incinerator that you loot from one of the convicts at primm to kill most of the nightkins .

If you go left as you enter the corridor and then go 2nd right down the stairs he is in a room up ahead. Best just to run and you should get there ok.

Maybe have a look at a few youtube vids for ideas but i killed all the nightkins and got to davison and died trying to kill him first time but if you have frag mines you can use them to cripple his leg and slow him down abit before using you weapon of choice to finish him off .

You're not helping him against the NCR, you're helping him against the Powder Gangers, and that's fine, they're a minor group and it doesn't matter at all if you pee them off (they're easy to kill so no real need to worry about them).
