I agree with 4T5 in regards to who I think he's talking about and I'm not going to name anyone. Every so often you get this mod (who I think he is talking about) throwing their weight about, especially if one goes against the grain with them (still within the rules of course). It's kind of sad as it unravels all the good work the rest of the mods do as they do a superb job with moderating this forum.

There is a bit of inconsistency among the mods, but generally it's OK. I do think a bit more transparency would help sometimes, though. I've been suspended without any reason being given. It's usually obvious, but it would be nice to at least get some kind of guidance on what happened. I also don't think it would be a bad thing to see why past members have been banned. You'd only need a note on their profile or whatever to say "Banned for badmouthing OCUK", "Banned for persistent bad language", "Banned for posting inappropriate images" or whatever. I think it would make things clearer.

On the whole, things are fair though, and I usually know when I'm pushing my luck and am at risk of getting into trouble. Sometimes it's just too tempting to point out that someone is a raging arse.

It's better than it used to be, I haven't had any issues for a long, long time now but I often see some cases where there's no reason given, meaning it might be repeated again.
Not knowing what you did wrong is a bit annoying, aside from the obvious swearies/hotlinking/personal attacks etc but then you should expect it.

Well yeah, a good mix is fine, but since when does having one incredibly poor moderator in the 'mix' make it a 'good' one? It doesn't. The irrational and inconsistent actions of one bring down the whole team. Get rid of the chaff and in the eyes of everyone, have an excellent team.

I have a suggestion: why doesn't the Don put his name in the ban reason for a little accountability and so the banned user knows who to contact about it?
