The MD is the 100% shareholder and owner of the business so nobody higher.........:(

Very true. Nobody but the MD has any respect for the GM as he has zero man management skills and screams and shouts and swears at people.

However, he has had a very good teacher in the MD as the GM was just a salesman with no managerial experience before working for us.

MD is seriously considering semi retiring and making the GM the MD as he is doing such an excellent job.............:(

Definitely time for me leave for pastures new after 8 years here.

2. Find new job
3. Hand notice to GM first (MD 2nd)
4. Enjoy exit interview for reasons for leaving.
5. Profit?

Not sure Dolph was speaking for the workers, but rather the general economy.

Besides, only SMBs end up like this, where the ego and personality of one or two people mould the entire work place. Big corporate PLCs are much more like the public sector although with (sometimes) more opportunities and (usually) worse pensions.
