Having now ridden my Rockrider for a couple of days, it's definitely starting to grow on me. The frame size issue is pretty much moot now too. Looking forward to getting a few extra things like the pedals so I can really throw the thing around. :)

I do a lot of walking and sport (running, football, gym) when I can, but I'm finding cycling quite tiring! Definitely exercising leg muscles I haven't 'used' in some time. Very much looking forward to some long bike-rides. Just need to get those padded shorts. Can anyone recommend any padded shorts?

I got a couple pairs of mtb shorts from decathlon for £12, reduced from £40. Baggy outer short, with stretchy material in the parts that need it, and lycra padded under shorts. I'm guessing there last years stock as there not on the website, but there were still loads on the shelfs in the Nottingham stock on Monday.

ah i thought lock out on rear was a given for climbing ,i dont know never riden fs before. how does it handle climbs ? with a fs do you really lose a load of energy too the suspension ?

I think its a personal preference if lockout works for you or not, but most shocks have some form of pro-pedal that will work with the linkage to reduce bob. For instance coil shocks have no lockout but they still climb well.

I find i dont need lockout, depends if your the type that stands and puts loads of effort into climbing or sits and spins and crawl up the climbs. The latter you dont get much bob anyway i find.

Hi folks, has anyone had issues fitting a Blackspire stinger using ISCG mounts?
I have both M5 and M6 countersunk bolts (got the stinger on ebay with no fittings) The problem is, the M5 bolts are too small and the M6 seem to big?

I checked out the guide on the Blackspire site and it shows the bolt as M6. Maybe I'm just meant to use M6 but jesus it's tight!

Where are the M6 bolts to big for? My stinger came with bolts but they did not counter sink into the recess on the stinger plate as they where to wide! so I had to drill out the plate to get them to sit flush.

might just be a bit of paint inside the tabs , unless theyre obviously too big

i used the bolts that came with the superstar guide on my 456ss , not a clue what size they are though but i assume all ISCG are the same

i could only get 2 of them in mind , chainstay is in the way of the third hole and i couldnt be bothered cutting the bolt down shorter

I'll only use the rear lockout on my Enduro (04) on the road. Off road then the inreased traction that the suspension gives more than makes up for a little bit of bob though I do tend to flick the switch for less travel and have my front forks wound down.

Happy days.. My new Hope M4 brakes + disc, Bel Air saddle and shorts have arrived. Heres me thinking Friday the 13th was meant to be a bad day.. :D

For £200 what sort of Mountain Bike could I get? (Unfortunately I couldn't get the previous bike)

I would prefer if it was new

Thanks :D
