I got a Nobby Nic Evo 2.25 front and Racing Ralph 2.25 rear last week, took them for a blast last weekend and they were great! Although I can only compare them to my previous useless Specialized tyres..

Thanks for your help, i think i will get my self some Nobby Nic as they are reasonably priced aswell.

Cant go wrong with the Nobby Nic, I reckon everyone will be using them this summer :p

Now just need to get myself some new biking shorts and possibly pedals any you would recommend?

Then might look at bleeding my brakes and changing the pads as it doesn't seem to difficult and probably needs doing as hasn't been done since i got the bike

Debating whether to take the bike for a service the gears need sorting out unable to get to the top gear on rear cassette and pedals are backing a funny sound which could be a bottom bracket problem?
Going Glentress 7 stances in a few weeks time so want to make sure bike is in good condition

edit: tyres out of stock need 26 x 2.1 :(

Superstar Nano Techs or if your feeling flush DMR Vaults.

Try next day tyres

You will have a set before the summer is out ;)

They look like they would wreck your shins. Can't really afford protective gear (in terms of got priority for other things) so would you think Shin pads would do the job.

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=3177 think about getting these as a little cheaper and i feel a don't really ride enough to pay £40 for pedals

Anybody have or tried the Easton Haven gear? Specifically the bars and stem?

I have the stem:

It's very well machined, very nice looking (I was starring at it for a while before the other parts arrived!) and there isn't much in the same type (heavy duty AM/DH) that's lighter/stronger as far as I know.

None of those pedals are in stock.

Yes flat pedals will wreck your shins, but they are still brilliant.

The Superstar Nano Techs are in stock and they are only £14 more. Performance and confort wise they are worth way more. I've had my nano techs a year and they have been brilliant and still ride like new and they've had some real hammer too! They are scuffed to buggery now :D

You certainly get your monies worth with the Nano Techs. I'm going to buy some more, but RED ones this time :p

I dont like them, the platform is to thick but a lot of people rate them as good pedals Wellgo do a cheaper alternative.

The DMR V8/12's are great pedals. The V8's are heavy and the bearings need some TLC. The bearings & sealing of the V12's are much better than the V8's and Superstar Nano's. But the slim profile of the Superstar pedals is better. The Wellgo MG-1's are a cheap light alternative, but not as grippy. The standard Wellgo's (which I haven't used) are cheap and the heaviest of the lot.

They'll only wreck your shins if your foot slips off the pedal, and thats why they look like that, so your feet won't slip.

I've got the Wellgo V12s on mine, they're grippy and seem decent enough for the price.. Would have liked the Nanos but I don't think they were in stock in the colour I wanted when I was ordering.

when your brakes feel mushy or the lever is going to the bar....or you see sparks coming from your brakes. :p

Quite hard to say wouldn't say mushy but not as sharp or pinch as much as they used to could be due to needing new pads is 3/4 year old. Hahaha no sparks yet :P. Maybe there alright and i am just better saving my pennies and just bang some new brake pads in to see if that makes a difference.

Would you recommended taking my bike to a shop to have the gears sorted out?
