What colour car do you have? May help.

Normally though

Wash - poorboys stuff is meant to be ace
clay - megs is good
polish - Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Wax - After reading a lengthy review on many many waxes I have opted with Poorboys, but yet to try it.

Invest in some foam applicators and some MF cloths.

The scratches may require something a bit stronger than AG SRP though.

The car is grey. Will have a look at those, thanks. :)

I used a turtle wax clay kit from Halfords £16.99, first time I've used one and thought it did a pretty good job of getting the paint really smooth. But it did start to break up after quite a bit of use so needed to be reworked in to a slab quite often.

Ah I did see those a while ago, but for some reason I've bought the lube spray stuff separately so I have no need for a full kit. Was probably cheaper getting a kit as well. :o

Thanks.

Can anyone recommend a list of products to buy to clean my Clio 200?

I'm not interested in spending 6 hours polishing every inch of the car 5 times but I'd like a decent finish. I simply don't have the time to do that.

Is there a shampoo and then treatment afterwards once the car is dry which will give me half decent results?

Ill be interested to hear this, gone are the days of spending a day cleaning my car :p

Well I don't have experience of some people on here but if really want to do the minimum then I would invest in a decent wash mit, some good shampoo like Chemical Guys Body Wash & Wax and then use a detailing spray to dry and put some shine on the car like Megs UQD. Bilberry as mentioned here several times is great on alloys with a brush doing the hard work.

However if you can give your car a day of care every 6 months with a treatment of a polish and hard wearing wax like Collinite 845 then you will give yourself a much easier time with washing as not as much debris will stick to the paintwork. Its seriously worth it in the long run! Using the same wax on your wheels will also make cleaning much easier.

Are the detailing sprays good at stopping water marks? I spend quite a while drying mine (black car) but still get odd marks on it due to having hard water here in the west country.

They are good for removing spots but I find choosing a good shampoo like the one I mentioned and cleaning the car either early or late in the day out of peak sun probably does more to prevent it in the first place.

Megs UQD gets a great shine and is easy to use but something like Chemical Guys Detail Spray which is synthetic is great as you can use it on all surfaces including the glass even if it does look a bit greasy when you first spray it on.

Ordered myself some black hole and some Nattys blue, will post up a pic when I get round to using it

Tried Natty's Blue myself on the weekend (on my parents' car 'cos I didn't have time to do my own). Epic results!

Anyway, there are swirl marks on my car that I just can't shift with trusty SRP. Anyone got any ideas, short of machine polishing (in case I fluff it even more)?

Don't think they're major swirls, just caught my eye in the sunlight.

:)

Ok thanks. Yeah I learnt from my two previous black cars that you have to do it very early/late. Did it 8am one weekend a few weeks ago!
