*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Dear god there's a lot of ROMs for this now! My Oxygen is playing up so I'll need to wipe, so I thought I might as well change... Too much choice though! :D

So for those of us who've been trying roms recently, is leedroid still the best rom with HTC apps? Don't care about sense itself as I use Zeam.

Have been meaning to rom up again since getting it back from repair, but kept not getting round to it. Obviously boosted performance and battery over stick froyo would be good, the only thing I want to keep is the HTC browser, email and message client.

Edit: Tried the current Gingerbread Leedroid A2SD last night and this morning and performance is noticeably worse than the old no-A2SD 2.4. Will try the Froyo final variant on Leedroid.com tonight after work.

Hey guys,

I have rooted and installed the CM 7 rom, along with partitioning my SD card with fat32 and ext4.

Question is... How does the ext4 partition work? Apps 2 data doesnt seem to see the ext4 partition and it doesnt show up in storage.

Desire seems quite poor with the limited application space, so any help on this is appreciated.

Edit---

Ill answer my own question again, incase someone else needs the answer, S2E application solved it :)

You don't need to partition for CM7. Use the CM7 hboot table and keep the SD for all the good stuff

Done exactly that with Oxygen. Gparted didn't detect my phone when I used it through a virtual machine, so I just flashed AmonRA recovery and removed the partition through that :p

I have a new 16GB MicroSD card and want to swap out my 8GB. But the current 8GB is partition for Apps2SD. How do I go about swapping over without breaking my apps?

Do a nandroid backup of existing configuration
Copy nandroid backup to pc
Go to rom manager
Select partition sd card + select options
When phone reboots remove battery asap and replace sd card for your new 16gb card
When new card has been partitioned mount it as storage and copy the nandroind backup from your pc
Restore nandroid backup

Sorted :-)

So I finally got rounf to calling HTC to collect my phone for repair and it's going to be around a 20 day turn around

Does anyone know the name of an app that will display your GPS speed in the notification bar? I want to have my speed showing when using Google Navigation.

Cheers!

I don't wish to worry you, but when I rang HTC I was told it should be 10 days. They collected the phone Monday last week and the website shows it is still on its way to the repair centre, despite UPS tracking showing it was delivered in 24 hours. When I phoned to check, I was told that the turnaround time is now being quoted as 28 days

Seriously considering paying off my contract and ordering the SGSII. When it's returned, I can sell my Desire which will more than covering the contract termination fee.

Might be getting my dad's Desire when he upgrades to an SGS2, should be a decent step up from my i5700. And decent, cheap cases around for it? And is it possible to flash a ROM easily from Linux, like it is with the SanFran? Cheers.
