OCZ Agility 3 Benchmark Results

I'm sure there'll be many more to come. :D Man, I totally wish I could justify one at this point. Maybe those Force 3s coming out might be something for me. :)
Yeah they look great and the Corsair website has them priced much cheaper than the previous Force Series.

Will definitely be keeping an eye on the UK price for those. Nice find :)

Anyone got a pair of these drives in Raid 0 yet?

I really wanna see the benchies for this...
Received two yesterday but one I think is fubar as any Raid array fails because of that drive. Have tried different ports, cables, secure erasing, crossed fingers and formatting individually, all to no avail.

I have another coming tomorrow so I can rule out anything else before I RMA.

Frustrated.

I tried the registry tweak aswell. Will see how it goes.

Mine keeps disappearing from bios after a few hours turned off. Have to do a power cycle for it to be seen again..

I've had similar, only once but restarting the machine it wouldn't show up as a bootable device. After cycling the power it hasn't happened since but I'm a little wary, saying that I did update the motherboard bios earlier that evening so can't rule that out either.

Can anyone who already has one confirm if it comes with the 2.5" to 3.5" bracket? The Vertex are advertised having the bracket but can't find anything on the Agility 3.

Mine arrives tomorrow and I don't want to be stuck over the weekend without the bracket.

No it doesn't come with a bracket but as said, you can stick it anywhere and it'll be fine.

The registry tweak seems to have sorted the random freezes. I'll keep my eye on it for the next few days to be sure.

Mine has had no freezes (yet), works perfectly fine, but is slower due to no native Sata 6gbps ports. But it seems to have a faulty temp sensor, as it now thinks its at a constant 128c, and I certainly know that its not.

Yep, video is a good example and IIRC audio files too (possibly images as well?).

Yep, all the common formats for video (MPEG2, MPEG4, AVC/H.264, WMV, etc.), audio (FLAC, MP3, AAC, OGG, etc.) and images (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, etc.) are incompressible so it's best to keep them off of these SandForce SSDs as much as possible.

Yep mine has just died on me, bloody annoying.

I was planning to get an Agility 3 once the firmware is fixed to play nice with Linux, but OCZs design/build quality/reputation seem to have gone downhill again (if that was possible after the Vertex 2E 32/64Gbit debacle?).

Corsairs new Force Series 3 range doesn't include a 60GB drive yet, so my best options for a 60GB Sandforce drive right now look like buying a Vertex 2E and exchanging it for the 32Gbit version, or buying a Corsair F60A. Unfortunately Corsair haven't posted the specs for the F40A or the F60A, despite both drives being available in the retail channel, and my asking about the specs in their forum. Am I suspicious - you bet!

Do these people actually want to sell their products?!

The Force 3 range does have a 60GB version. I found it before somewhere, it's got a listed retail price of $139. Can't seem to find it on Corsair's site anymore, not sure where I found it before...

The 60GB Force Series 3 has been announced, but assuming they only have limited numbers of SandForce controllers available at this stage in production, I reckon they'll build the larger, more profitable drives first. The 60GB will probably only become widely available once the initial demand for 120/240GB models is satisfied.

Also, Corsair seem to be rather remiss in publishing the specifications for their smaller drives, and benchmarks are hard to come by. This doesn't exactly instil me with confidence in their products.

Did you see the 60GB drive for pre-order or was it actually in stock?

Apologies for going slightly OT, but then again the Force 3 is a direct competitor to the OCZ Vertex/Agility 3 drives.

Hmmm.. .I got a Agility 3 the other day and I tried out HDTune on it, I seemed to get some VERY odd results, whereby on 50% of the drive read speeds were 190MB/s~ then the other 50% it was 410MB/s~.

Anyone else tried a HDTune run to compare to mine? I'm running it on a Crosshair IV Formula atm, with 4 other drives connected to the controller in a RAID 0 array. They couldn't be affecting the SSD could they?

Nothing yet on OcUK. Another etailer has the 120gb corsair up for pre-order under £185. May have pick one up at that price. Faster and cheaper than ocz stuff by quite a bit. Been reading bad stuff about ocz lately, want to get rid of mine and go for new force 3's.

Will wait a bit though, as two 60gb force 3's in raid may be a better option.

no brackets at all just ssd it self .

Got 2 more delivered this morning, tested both on there own both DOA. 2 different rigs to check. I tried everything, all BIOS tweaks, AMD & Intel platforms, desktop and a laptop, internal and external.

So i went and pulled a vertex 3 in work and guess what, working.

Thats 3 Agility 3's i've had in a week all DOA. I've made my feelings known to Tony over at OCZ. This is as bad as there REVO drive coming out with extra mods hand soldered on

Corsair Force 3's for me....OcUK need to get some stock of the 60G & 120G to stop me going elsewhere......

Come on OcUK...Lets see some on the website......:-)
