Doctor Who

Was re watching some older eps, laughed as David Tennant explains that tardis's aren't built they are grown.... funny how matt managed to cobbled one together

out of already grown parts of tardis? :p

Although it's described as tardis coral ,which could mean it grows and leaves behind an inorganic skeleton like normal coral does which would be the mechanical parts

there were also bits from 100's of different models on the House planet. The Timelords have been around for a long time...maybe they changed the way they manufactured Tardis's at some point in their history :p.

Stop over-analysing it... While we can't be sure whether Tardises are built or grown, we can be certain that Dr Who as a whole is built out of a mountain of retcons.

It was meant to be a bit of tongue in cheek :).

This threads nothing comapred to some of the other forums/fan websites out there for over analysing things...

Theres probably threads discussing what type of engine oil the Tardis uses...

(we've all seen Galaxy Quest and the over zealous fans in that, so you get the idea).

Hang on.

If the Doctor was killed at the beginning at the series while in the Matt Smith form, have they effectively just revealed that there may be no more doctors after?

Or will it be retconned where the death is prevented somehow? Or reveal that the Doctor can regenerate back into an old form?

Pardon my ignorance, but dosent the doctor have a limited number of regenerations anyway? Not really watched too many of the older episodes (bit before my time) I should probably make an effort to at some point.

Apparently so, but it's really a moot point in the grand scheme of things.

He's supposed to have a limit of 12, but if they want to continue making Doctor Who episodes and they actually reach that point, they'll just find/write a way around it. Got to love sci fi.

13... 12 regenerations after the original, = 13 lives... :p

As the Fifth Doctor says in the Mawdryn Undead "Eight of them, eight of me" 5 + 8 is? Got to love these Dr Who new boys! ;)

But yes, I imagine they'll either ignore this or find a way around it when the time comes. Don't think a limit has actually been mentioned in the new series (2005+), correct me if I'm wrong.

Smith isn't the last Doctor, there will be some story arch for this season I'm sure. And I enjoyed this weeks episode (and last weeks).

And finally with Tardis's being grown I make a point of ignoring the majority of RTD's era of Doctor Who, besides it could just mean the Matrix part...

I could write more, but I am a member of other forums for that...

Sorted in the Sarah Jane Adventures apparently.
Andi.

That scene is an off the cuff remark to a kid, feels more like a "oh don't worry about it, trust me, I'm the doctor" type of thing that probably isn't true. Maybe it is, and it's a rather cop out way of changing the goal post, but it felt more like a reassuring lie than an explanation.

I though the master had over 13 lives (timelords brought him back for the war)

The crazy eye patch woman that Amy keeps seeing. Would it be outlandish to guess that, that's going to be her midwife?

Probably, she wakes up in a hospital ward realising the whole series was just a dream... ;)

Wasn't that the BBC/Canadian TV-Movie with the McGann Brother playing the Dr, and Julia Roberts Brother playing the Master...

He got 'Given' to the Daleks for Exicution and "As he's used up all his regenerations" it was the Dr's job to take him back to Galefray! when he landed on earth and it went a bit 'norks up'...

The limit was only ever imposed by the timelord council anyway, so with the timelords gone who's to say the Dr cant do as he pleases? I'd still like some kinda story about it in a real episode though.

A time lord can only regenerate a total of 13 times, but another time lord can "gift" more if they wanted to, but I think it would take away there own amount
