Your status?

Out of curiosity, why is rep a good idea? If it's for something like MM then something like that already exists in trust. What would it help?

The status/avatar set up here is an utter waste of time. There's nothing individual about it, making it pointless.

Aye it sort of attributes how many posts a user's made nothing more.

I reckon we should be allowed to make them individually. Keeping the dimensions the same as they are now and allowing the same graphics as the sigs would mean policing them isn't much more either.

To stop people abusing it could you set limits say only thanking one person a max of twice a week and only a max of 2 thanks per day, or something along those lines?

Again, I don't think that's something that's ever going to happen. Would make the forum look a lot messier IMO.

Guys don't get me wrong here...... A Caporegime to me when I joined seemed like someone who 'knew it all' but that is clearly not the case.

I think a rep system is a good idea

How? It's ridiculously flawed.

It starts off fine but once the popular members get high reps, they start rep trading between each other (inevitable) in order to get even more. The members with very low reps never have a chance and usually find their points getting lower and lower (getting negged for the sake of it).

Why not have a rep system whereby only the non-lifestyle section has it. Also the OP gets a vote or two per question he asks / thread he creates thereby ensuring reward for the user that helps solve the problem.

I agree that a sense of uniformity is a very strong point of these forums. However I think that changing some pre determined black and white mafia movie shots to what a person wants wouldn't really alter any of that.

Why don't you have a vote? ;)

I don't like thanks systems on forums.

Usually looks really messy and it also looks weird if you got none. Some forums only have it enabled in some sections though, which I guess could work.

i think rating system would be better and also that we should be able to choose whatever avatar we want but with the same sort of rules used for signatures ( max height, width and size ) always thought it would be nice to use a picture of my rig but i know that wont change.

I quite like the avatar system actually, don't like all the clutter down the side of the screen.

Could we just not have a rep system?

So people get positive or negative rep? Although I imagine the negative rep would get abused :p

I bet you...a drink(?!) that at least 95% of the votes would be no to change.

Could work in the MM.. but when thinking about it there is already a system for that, and it seems to work well as it is.

Sorry OP I also boo at the thanks system.. I do however shrug at the gangster avatars and status names.

Since when were gangsters overclockers or mad about pushing the limits!? Apart from cracking heads open and busting caps....

Spie talk to me about the motive about the gangster theme as it seems kinda strange.
