My rig is pretty damn good as it stands. I am going to have to throw another £500 at it when this comes out as I cannot believe it will cope.
Wasn't it you making having these exact same worries about the Brink preorder items, that turned out fine (one of the few things that did!), I'm sure this will as well.
Wont the lack of quick scoping basically make offensive recons pointless, they'll all just go back to sniping from afar and being generally useless![]()

Patience, perhaps. Skill, no. Sniping on the front line is all split second twitch headshots and takes far more skill.

LinkThe BF3 Demo was, understandably, showcased on a rather beastly PC. What better way to show off the visual prowess of the Frostbite 2 engine, right?
Interestingly, although a bit hazy on the specifics of the hardware, Patrick told us (Atomic) that the demo was played on a computer with standard high-end components and a single NVIDIA 580 Video card.
According to Patrick, the minimum requirements for running BF3 on PC are quite reasonable.
"Without going into detail, if you have a PC with equivalent hardware matching the consoles - not CPU per CPU, but matching output, thats your low spec."
He went on to claim that the computer that will be able to run BF3 on Full settings has yet to be Built.
Luck plays a much greater factor in long range sniping as you're reliant on your target continuing to run into your bullet. It's a joint effort. Not to mention all the other variables that are impossible to judge with consistent accuracy - again, chance rears it's head. Rambo sniping is pure reactions, aiming, and awareness - it takes the chance out of the equation. You can try and batter me with logic all you want, but too much time spent sniping in various games says you're wrong
Regardless, 9/10 snipers who sit at the back of the map would be more use to their team running towards the enemy shooting their guns randomly in the air - then at least they may act as a distraction. It baffles me why EA have made this choice as the sniping was one of the things BC2 got right.
Snipers should be taken out of BF3 altogether, quick scoping is just stupid and not life like at all, and long range in most FPS's is pointless (apart from ARMA2, where snipers are used mostly as recon as per real life).
I wish they would make a bold move like that(it isnt really a bold move). But they've got to have them because they've always had them its a required convention no matter if they work or not.
They are a purely specialised war implement. They dont belong in a fast paced game like this.
Im starting to wonder if my 4870x2 will be up to this game. In fairness to it though, it runs bc2 perfectly and i doubt it would struggle with mw3 so im holding out on upgrading unless its really struggling. Would probs need a psu upgrade while i am at it too....

it wont be upto it as bf3 is directx 11 only
