Seems like a decent signing to me and if Spurs are offering him their No.1 spot, he should definitely take that chance instead of going to Liverpool to be No.2. Never rated Gomes, would think he'd be a decent replacement for at least 2-3 years minimum.

He is the french number 1 and very good keeper. not so much of a risk

Yeah good keeper, Lloris would be a decent buy. Still only 24 and the French number one. Buying Freidel would be a massive step back, they might as well use Cudicini seeing as they just given him a one year contract extension.
Long term I would agree with you - but short term (like over first few months) yes I think there is a (small) risk personally
got bags for Champion league experience to boot. Only other good keepers that are not at major clubs I can think of is him that bloke Igor whatshisface from russia

Igor Akinfeev? There's a good chance that CSKA Moscow will be back in the Champions League anyway given their history so I suppose it might come down to whether he can see himself going further at a new club.

Also there is huge amount of money in the Russian league atm they can afford to pay big wages and big transfer fees to keep their best players
a villa friend of mine mentioned the friedel rumour to me last week and i laughed. if we sign as a number 1, infact, if we sign him at all, i will be worried
Europe / Internationals are completely different to EPL, different tactics / style and speed of play and rarwly do you play that level week in week out.
Its a slight concern if you get a keeper from Spain / Germany / Italy but they are all a step above the French League in quality (Maybe thats a bit generous to Italy )

I wish him well, I always liked him. He joins the ever increasing list of promising Everton strikers who looked like they could have been top class but fall at the last hurdle. For him it was injuries.
Shame he could've had a big future. I hope he stays injury free and bangs in 20 for you next year
