Well this looks awesome!.. Asus Eee Transformer Tablet

Until there is a real advantage to rooting the TF I think I'm just going to keep it as is. I can wait a day TBH. Best gadget that I've bought since my Desire. Brilliant thing.

Well it's here and so far, I love it. Build quality seems high. Keyboard seems very well integrated rather than an after thought. Looking forward to having a proper play with it.

I just read this, pretty crap tbh, everywhere else gets it before us, lol.

might just stick on this leaked 3.1 :) it is after all identical

Not true, the Euro Xooms don't have 3.1 official yet which sucks massively due to the Xoom supposedly being the dev device, and even more so because I bought one. Give 3.1 please :(

This is a Transformer thread, therefore my statement was based on the 3.1 update for ASUS Transformer located in the world, which get the update, before the UK....nothing about other tablets :)

Ah - yeah there is that... is that a stable 1.6?

Just like OC'in a PC CPU you can get lucky with your TF or not so lucky.
On XDA there are many people saying it's quite stable and another kernel increases the voltages a little to help unstable OCs.

Some even say it was improved video and youtube playback

Ah my bad, thought you meant in regards to other popular tablets around at the moment. On the up side at least its here in a reasonable time frame, looks like the movement to get updates out fast is working!

No problem, apologies for biting your head off! :D

And they said the first couple of weeks into June, looks like its the beginning, unless they change their minds :p

Does this sound ok for your forms?

Acrofields and Signature Capture.

That sounds great, thanks very much for the link, I'll look into it!

Thanks also to the others that commented about signing on the screen, I had a try out in the shop today (using an iPad) and the screen type seemed to be able to sign quite effectively so I don't think that will be a problem.

Another question :D

Have any of you tried using this tablet to read graphic novels? I'd be really interested to hear how it handled them!

And another :D;)
How does the tablet handle different movie formats? I have examples of videos etc., that I would like to show customers using the screen, I used to have a big TV that I could use but I've moved offices and don't have that facility anymore...I'd like to show slideshows of my work which were previously put together in Proshow and played back in a standard DVD player...could that be done, would the DVD just be converted into another format?

Finally...
What is the sound from the speakers like? Again, to show potential customers so I would like something that doesn't sound like it's coming from underwater or like the tinniest phone speaker you can get...that wouldn't give a good impression!

Well now - that was an update well worth doing! It's markedly slicker, resizing widgets is a godsend although it's not all widgets, only those made capable of it. Still excellent work ASUS/Google - made a brilliant device that little bit better.

Does comics fine, there's an app or two for this.
Will play back every video format fine except for the following; Stuttering in H.264 HIGH profile @ 720p/1080p. These can be converted to H.264 MAIN profile @ 720p/1080p with Handbrake (you sacrifice filespace to make it easier for the cpu to decode, not much loss of picture quality). Mobo player plays everything I throw at it.
There's polaris office built in for psts, HDMI out works fine with my TV at least (samsung).
Is your work on displayed as static images in a pst or is it short film in a pst? if it's film you could probably just use mobo player.

after the 3.1 update i got a keyboard update and allowed it, now my @ and " are reversed. Anyone experienced this / have a solution? thanks

Edit: fixed, for some reason it had switched from the asus keyboard setting to standard android one or something, switched back and now fine

Quite tempted to get one of these; but have a few questions:

With its in browser flash support can it run online flash games?
Is the battery life really as good as claimed under proper usage?
With the hdmi out, is it capable of playing films etc on a TV like you could with a normal laptop?
