Getting bothered about the players we are getting linked with

Young, Downing, Barton, Henderson

I really was hoping that with the new ownership we would have set our sights quite a bit higher

Yep, and we'll be paying stupid money as they are English.

You know there's football outside of beating Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, right? And just winning trophies? Or should I presume that your elders taught you to sufficiently disregard the lower divisions as below you to the extent that winning all the time down there and getting promoted wasn't seen as any kind of achievement.

I get that Man City have definitely been through a lot more than a lot of equivalent Premier League clubs in the top half, but my point was just that almost everything you've seen of it has been when they've been on this massive upward curve. So I really don't get how you've seen them be "awful", win nothing and have "terrible players".
Yes i do.

I know a lot of what i have seen has been an upward curve but we were relegated/promoted/promoted/relegated again and also watching players like Sun Jihai/Macken/Jordan/Thatcher isn't fantastic and they were terrible. We won the division title and play off final but there not counted are they not? If they were then what the hell was that 35 years banner all about!

Daily mail ( i know i know ) reckons Higuain could be available for 15m Surely any of the top 6 would go for him at that price.

Modric or Nasri would cost similar, with both teams very unlikely to want to sell. Modric though will probably look for a move after next season if we fail to get back into the CL.

Modric maybe would be near £30mil but no more. Nasri only has one year left on his contract so would be considerably cheaper and certainly nowhere near £44mil!

I don't think Aguero is quite the same kind of player though, he's no good in the air and Higuain isn't too bad is he? I'm not sure!

It would be more likely for Benzema to go for 15m I'd think.

I was just answering the question, who could replace him. It looks likely that Aguero could end up at Real and it also looks likely that they'll keep Adebayor (who for some reason JM rates highly). With those 2 and Ronaldo often playing through the middle, it's possible that both Higuain and Benzema could be off. £15m for Higuain does seem too cheap though.

Real can have Ade and £15m for Higuian! ;)

It wouldn't surprise me if Real sold him cheap though because they only ever use one striker and Mourinho might not like him?

Would be a great signing for us if Tevez left but if Tevez stays then Higuian can go elsewhere!

That's because Adebayor is Drogba minus the ability and workrate.

So...like...are we buying Sniejder or what? :p

Be cool if we got him, modric and young, or perhaps nasri.

So far we've extended Owen's contract, hurrah! :o:p:D

Looks like the Norwich deal for morrison is done, thats 2 strikers now with him and Vaughn.

I just hope Lambert signs a couple of players with premier league experiance (there are rumors of Bullard) Lets hope we can do a Blackpool (without the relagation) and turn a few heads!

So, wonder why Stevie G's best mate is asking LFC fans how they would react if Torres returned to LFC this summer.
Sounds a bit suspect completely out of the blue.

Modric maybe would be near £30mil but no more.

the same modric who is 2 years younger than berbatov was when we sold him to man utd nearly 3 yrs ago for over £30m, who doesn't want to leave the club, plays out of skin every week and is on a long contract?
