Doctor Who

Can we also assume If River can regenerate then she must be on her last regeneration as the first time the Doctor meets her she dies?

Or something like that... :)

Even with the cot looking old, you would still think it has timelord technology within it.. Maybe the name can change on the cot like a timelord can re gen to whoever is in it at the time? With River being the last user of the cot her name is still there?

She tells the doctor he wouldn't survive long enough to regenerate when they are in the library, he agrees... She knew what she was doing :)

Someone remind me, why is this Earth based papal prior, who hold riversong prisoner, and created her as a weapon against the doctor, actually trying to get the doctor in the first place?

What have they against him?

One would assume it wasn't his. He stole that Tardis, why on earth would his own cot be in it.

why he may have stole the tardis to begin with he has been back home a number of times, he could easy have picked up a few personal items in thoes times he been back to gallifrey

Does anyone recall before we found out about the silence how people were speculating the Omega might return as the big bad in this season?

Well, we've just seen the omega army, and the girl from the forests of Omega, so maybe he is still the big bad masterminding the downfall of the Doctor.

One thing from the show, why does moffatt insist in every script he writes to include a minimum of one gay or lesbian reference? The gay army couple, the fat one, the thin one, 'why would we ever need other names?'
Hardly protrays homosexuality as normal in any fashion, in fact, he appears for all his pro-homo stance to go out of hsi way to make them exceptionally odd couples or individuals.
I grow tired of his mantra.

Must admit that scene struck me as odd and out of place, why was it relevant ? What was so important to the story that they announce to the viewer that they are a gay couple? It did rather seem like they were making a point of indicating that they were gay just for the sake of having them being gay.

Yeah it did seem a bit irrelevant to the plot, I thaught they were going to expand on it later when the soldiers faced off against the headless monks, but it never materialised.

Just to suit the US along with the 45min episodes to fit in the US showing time slot of 1hour with 15mins of "commercials".

Most US tv seasons have mid breaks and end around now.

The BBC cares more for that audience then they do us.

I'd say that's alright when each part of the season has something like 12 episodes, as they often do in the US, but with 7?

Jenny wasn't a recurring character, and you did notice the Sontaran character from Tennant's doctor's time in this episode, right? ;)

Never mind the sontaran character, how about RIVER SONG being used from the Tennant era! Moffat's comment of not allowing any RTD stories or characters to bleed through can't be taken seriously now.

The doctor needs a tardis to get around time. But river song can just pop up.

If I was the doctor I would go into the future to where they have that technology and get it for myself, might come in handy with all those times they are trying to find the tardis.

Also Im pretty annoyed the next episode mentions hitler, I really dont want to see them go back to that time and try and convince us the nazis have anything to do with trying to kill the doctor.

When I saw them bring back all those other characters I thought they may be a chance they also bring back one other character - bring back the MASTER!

River Song is a character created by Moffat though, he wrote the story in that Library with her in the Tennant era.

As for the cot name guys, could the name not just be "The Doctor"? She is Doctor River Song after all.

That episode blew my mind. So many thoughts and ideas about it. It also explains why she was a bit awkward/in awe with Rory when she met him at the start of the episode as that would be her dad technically.

One thing I thought they missed out on though was if the doctor was building an army of supporters, where was Captain Jack? An invincible man would probably be quite useful in an army, no?

River Song was one of Moffat's characters, not one of RTDs...

That was another bit that screamed out as stupid, why hasn't she been that awkward when she's been round him the rest of the time?
