City are meant to be cutting back on the silly wages, paying Sneijder upwards of 300k per week would make them look daft. I doubt they will do it.
Well the sale of Ade, Bridge, RSC, Jo etc would help that.
I think if he said he wanted to join us then we would pay whatever is needed.

"Whatever is needed", surely within reason? Unfortunately even with Man City money you can't literally pay people incredibly ridiculous sums, there are only two players on the planet worth looking at massive weekly figures for, Messi and Ronaldo.

He apparently wants £200k which Man Utd can do easily, and obviously they are the better club to be at if you like history. None vs lots. :p

Depends what the Sheikh thinks :p, have you seen some of the players on our books? RSC, Jo and Bridge :(:o

If utd offer 200k then we will offer more, it is that simple really. Then it depends on what he wants to do, be part of a solid team that will always win trophies and always be in the mix for titles or a team that is still building now but could potentially become one of the best clubs in Europe.

Yeah, but 10k a week to him isn't going to sway it in your favour. They wouldn't offer 50-100k more, not a chance.

We shall see, I hope we get him, it would be nice to actually sign a proper player for a change. :(

We would offer 50k-100k more just to get him instead of utd. No problem, considering this is our last chance to spend heavily.
I don't want us to sign him because he just does not fit anywhere and no point him being on the bench.

He has the choice of joining a club that is one of the best in europe, or a club that has the potential? I don't think that is a hard decision if he lets anything other than money decide.

Easily? Rooney had to hand in a transfer request to get it and you weren't having to pay ~£30m to sign him too.

Yes but unfortunately that is the price you have to pay these days, Man Utd could afford it if required.

I doubt it, but fair enough.

I'd take Nasri at United. People are quick to bring up some of these stats for arsenal, but against england for france he seemed to be very smooth, and perhaps was the best player i the first half? Thats as i remember it anyway~!) He has technique, pace, finishing. Lots of great attributes.

He for me would be a better player than say, valencia.

http://manuniteddevils.com/2010/03/30/de-gea-turned-wigan-down-to-keep-his-dream-alive/

and reading this (from march last year) it would appear he's been under uniteds watch for a while. when did vds confirm he was retiring?

Interesting - but then it could easily be argued that de Gea was a Howard, or any of the others we have tried before VDS - ie talented but moderately untested, and like Neuer (because of their age and who they had ahead at club / International level) that they have really come into their own.

Its interesting that he was only valued at £1m that short time ago, but then he was just promise rather than proven skill (and generally keepers dont go for that much to start with, unless they are much more senior etc)

Something along the lines of:
Gk
Defense
Carrick - Fletcher
Valencia - Nasri - Nani
Rooney

Switching it up to give Hernandez etc game time as well, he's not my first choice but at some of the prices mentioned it's a no brainer.

Saying that odds are very much on it just being a negotiating tactic to get more out of Arsenal.

Personaly dont think Nasri is that good centrally to ruin how imo amazing Rooney looks in the deeper role. If you wanted to accomodate Sneijder instead then fair enough its wirth it, but personally always think Rooney makes the whole team tick better in the No 10 role, and instead of buying Nasri we flog Berba , and get cover for Hernandez (Owen wont be fit often enough to be worth worrying about lol). Also with the number of Internationals Mexico have this summer, I can see SAF wanting to give Chicharito a rest in the early season.

By all means bring Nasri in as a left sided option - but its more likely to be Young (who can also be a better central option compared to Nasri, although a little meh too)

Diarra rumours are persisting too - reasonable option but if its anything like £18m then its too expensive for seemingly average player imo

Nasri, Manu would do better with Tim Cahill. He would get more goals, more assists and create more and would cost a fiver. He also wouldn't go missing.

Yeah Manu need to rebuild but my point is they don't need to spend £30 million to prise some average player from a club because the media thinks they are flavour of the month aka Bale who played well for 3 months.

Oh, that would make more sense although £30 million or so was only really touted for Wesley. Most of the United fans said they wouldn't mind him in on a very low fee, but I don't think even the most delusional Arse-nauts would say he's anything near the £30 million mark.

'Andy Carrol/Man City' arguments below please.

also

I am sure it has already been said but Sneijder apparently going to decide between City and utd. Hope its utd *fingers crossed*

I would much rather Juan Mata who is on his way to us according to some!

Just read this on Wiki:
